The Printing Press Assistants responsibility is to safely, coordinate resources to assist the Operator to produce high quality products, matching established customer specifications with maximum production output capabilities & minimum waste.

Position Duties and Responsibilities:

• Have the ability and work ethic to learn a new skill set
• Must be able to learn the basics of applied print management
• Comply with safety, quality sanitation, maintenance, production, environmental, and personnel practices to maximize product reliability and minimize costs.
• Develops plans to improve production standards (downtime, efficiency, spoilage, quality, etc.).
• Prepares and provides feedback on line output, spoilage, quality, etc.
• Communicates effectively with all levels of management.
• Safe use of the equipment.
• Must be able to set up and monitor all aspects of any job as it runs through completion to ensure web width, edge position, colors and print quality.
•  Monitor to achieve production's operating metrics, such as percent up time, waste reduction, scrap, etc
• Develop and continually improve technical knowledge of processes in order to continually improve and problem solve.
• Model the Corporate Values and Principles.

Essential Skills Required:
• Prefer any experience in print, graphics, 2-3 years of hands-on experience
• 2-3 years of prior mechanical or industrial experience is needed
• Should possess strong ability to work with others in a team.
• Ability to communicate effectively verbally and in written.
• Ability to lead, delegate and meet objectives with a strong work ethic
• Ability to multi-task.
• Basic computer skills

Essential Functions Required:
• Ability to lift 25-45 pounds on a routine basis - lift 50 pounds occasionally, up to 80 pounds with assistance
• Must be able to stoop, kneel, bend & climb
• Ability to alternate standing, walking and sitting for 8 to 12 hours.
• Ability to hear necessary audible safety warnings
• Ability to distinguish color (pass a colorblindness test)
