What You Will Do
As a DevOps Manager, you will play a critical role in bridging the gap between development and operations teams, ensuring seamless collaboration and efficient workflows. Your primary responsibility will be to create an environment that accelerates software development and deployment processes using Azure cloud services. Key aspects of your role:
- Problem-Solving and Leadership:
- Lead and mentor team members, promoting a DevOps mindset.
- Do performance reviews, one on one’s with staff and help support staff career growth.
- Help to grow the team by performing interviews and hiring qualified staff.
- Provide guidelines and best practices for DevOps, Continuous Delivery, Automation and Software delivery best practices within our development teams.
- Collaboration and Communication:
- Work with the Development teams to design and support our security products and platforms.
- Work closely with development teams to understand project requirements and priorities.
- Communicate technical details effectively to both technical and non-technical stakeholders.
- Foster a culture of collaboration, continuous learning, and innovation.
- Document day-to-day activities in our ticketing system
- Infrastructure Management And Support:
- Make critical decisions related to infrastructure, tooling, and process improvements.
- Define infrastructure as code (IaC) to ensure consistency and reproducibility across environments using Terraform.
- Implement best practices for scalability, security, and performance.
- Rolling out major changes and provide Tier 2/3 support during maintenance windows.
- Support a SaaS service which may require irregular work hours at times and on call support during North American business hours.
- Deployment and Release Automation:
- Design and implement deployment pipelines using Github Workflows.
- Implement security and code scanning tools.
- Coordinate with development teams to ensure smooth transitions from development to production.
- Cloud Services Expertise:
- Demonstrate proficiency in Azure services like, AKS, Azure Front door, Azure Entra ID, etc
- Manage Kubernetes, networking, storage, and other cloud resources.
- Optimize resource utilization and cost efficiency.
- Perform capacity planning and operational activities as we grow for our key infrastructure services
What You Will Bring To Forescout
Qualifications:
- Certifications in Azure and Kubernetes
- 3+ years managing a team of 5 - 10 people
- 6+ years of DevOps, SRE, and related experience.
- 10+ years of Software industry experience.
Competencies
- Strong communication, collaboration, and leadership skills.
- Advanced scripting experience required (e.g. bash & python)
- Must be comfortable and capable with Kubernetes and kubectl to deploy, manage, and troubleshoot workloads.
- Familiarity with DevOps tooling for development and deployment (e.g. Docker, Jenkins, helm, terraform).
- In-depth experience with running production workloads. (e.g. Monitoring, capacity planning, new service deployments, pod debugging).
- Strong written and verbal communication skills.
- Strong skills working with remote teams in different timezones.
- Excellent and proven analytic and troubleshooting skills for problems that span multiple domains (applications, network, system)
