As an engineer on the HockeyTech development team you’ll work alongside fellow engineers, product managers, and designers to create the next generation of sports video streaming and analytic collection software.  You will contribute to the HockeyTV streaming product as well as the LeagueStat stat collection product.

People who are successful on this team are self-motivated, team-minded engineers with passion and grit for both business and technological innovation. We work with Go, Angular 13, Ionic Framework, TypeScript, NestJS, Node.js, PHP, Redis, Docker, and Kubernetes across AWS & Google Cloud. The ability to embrace, learn, and adapt to changing technology is an important characteristic. 


  • You will be responsible for developing and maintaining software products, including web APIs, web front ends, shell utilities, and native GUI applications
  • You will work closely with project managers, developers and stakeholders to design and develop applications
  • You will participate in code reviews
  • You will contribute to the design and review process of software products
  • You will improve scalability, service reliability, capacity, and performance
  • You will work closely with the IT Operations team to configure and deploy environments
  • You may be asked to participate in the on-call rotation



  • 3+ years of experience in software development
  • Knowledge of Angular, React, Vue, or any other modern framework that promotes component-based app architectures
  • Have experience integrating front-end UIs with JSON APIs
  • Experience building API services using Go, Node.js, or PHP
  • Strong SQL skills
  • Experience with automation tools such as Jenkins, Cloud Formation, Puppet, or Ansible



  • A passion for hockey
  • Experience with NoSQL database design
  • Experience with streaming video
  • Experience with cloud hosting such as Amazon Web Services
  • Experience with mobile applications
  • Experience with fintech services
  • Experience using, Docker, or Kubernetes
  • Have used caching technologies such as Redis or similar key-value stores and CDNs
