Purchasing Manager
 
With 4 branches and 3 manufacturing facilities located in the Pacific Northwest, FLOFORM Counter-tops manufactures, sells and installs over 20,000 premium surface counter-tops a year. Established in 1961, FLOFORM is proud to be one of the Best Managed Companies in North America.
Required immediately, FLOFORM Countertops is seeking a Purchasing Manager for our US locations!
 
Position Summary:
Responsible for developing and executing purchasing strategies, tracking metrics to reduce expenses, negotiating deals, and managing vendors. They ensure clear requirements, forecast market trends, mitigate risks, and collaborate with stakeholders. 
 
Qualifications:
  • Bachelor's degree from a four-year college or university
  • Three to five years related experience and/or training
  • Ability to focus under pressure and comfortable meeting tight deadlines with a high degree of accuracy and attention to detail
  • Possess strong verbal and written communication skills
  • Ability to work with all levels of management and personnel
  • Strong organizational skills
  • Project management skills considered an asset 
  • Ability to apply common sense understanding to carry out instructions
  • Proficiency with MS Office and email
 
Responsibilities:
  • Manage all aspects of purchasing for the multifamily division
  • Create budgets for upcoming projects
  • Manage and supervise all Purchasing Staff, including interviewing, hiring, and training employees; planning, assigning, and directing work; appraising performance; rewarding and disciplining employees; addressing complaints and resolving problems
  • Bid plans to subcontractors and vendors-
  • Obtain quality work at a competitive price
  • Maintain computer databases (pricing, estimates, items, etc.)
  • Respond to phone calls from potential new vendors as well as field staff
  • Develop purchasing and logistic strategies on a division/regional/national level
  • Identify alternate sourcing opportunities for cost savings and/or quality enhancements
  • Report to the VP of Operations on the state of division operations and the impact of purchasing
  • Manage and review costs of existing projects
  • Build strategic relationships and a network of business contacts
  • Conducts all business in a professional and ethical manner to serve customers and increase the goodwill and profit of the company
  • Other duties may be assigned
