Fixins is a brand new, full-service soul food restaurant located in the heart of the Oak Park neighborhood in Sacramento CA at the 40 Acres Cultural Complex.  Fixins serves traditional soul food with a modern twist. We pride ourselves on providing impeccable service to our customers in a hip, high-energy environment.  Fixins is a large, fast-paced restaurant with a maximum capacity of 240 guests. There is a main dining room, bar area, outdoor patio and private party room that appeal to a broad base of customers.  We are currently hiring experienced, energetic professionals for every position.

Front of House Manager Job Description
Reports to: General Manager

The Front of House Manager assists the GM in leading the operation of the restaurants. The Front of House Manager helps in directing the daily operations of the restaurant, ensuring compliance with company standards in all areas of operation, including product preparation and delivery, customer relations, restaurant maintenance and repair, inventory management, team management, recruiting, hiring, termination and retention of team members, financial accountability, and ensuring that the highest quality products and services are delivered to each customer.

Responsibilities

  • Helps with day-to-day operations by managing, scheduling, ordering, and developing the restaurant team members.
  • Assists with recruits, interviews, and hires team members, conducts performance appraisals, takes disciplinary action, motivates and trains.
  • Ensures that the Occupational Safety and Health Act, local health and safety codes, as well as the company safety and security policies are being adhered to.
  • Ensures that the restaurant is in compliance with the preventative maintenance program with regards to facility, equipment, and grounds maintenance.
  • Ensures a safe working and customer experience environment by facilitating safe work behaviors of the team.
  • Maintains fast, accurate service, positive guest relations, and ensures products are consistent with company quality standards.
  • Ensures food quality and 100% customer satisfaction.
  • Ensures complete and timely execution of corporate & local marketing programs.
  • Works with the GM to estimate future needs for equipment, building repairs/upgrades, menu changes, etc.
  • Ensure compliance with sanitation and safety regulations
  • Manage restaurant’s good image and suggest ways to improve it
  • Control operational costs and identify measures to cut waste
  • Help create detailed reports on weekly, monthly and annual revenues and expenses
  • Promote the brand in the local community through word-of-mouth and restaurant events
  • Recommend ways to reach a broader audience (e.g. discounts and social media ads)
  • Train new and current employees on proper customer service practices
  • Implement policies and protocols that will maintain future restaurant operations

QUALIFICATIONS

  • Several years experience as a restaurant assistant manager or similar position
  • Excellent business math skills with the ability to analyze cost reports effectively to drive greater profitability
  • Strong problem solving and decision making skills, and the ability to be flexible and adapt in any situation.
  • Good computer skills with demonstrated proficiency in the use of internet and ability to utilize computerized business tools such as email, learning management systems, and memo software.
  • Must be proficient in Word, Excel, PowerPoint, and other appropriate software.
  • Strong oral and written communication skills
  • Experience managing large staff to excellence a in fast paced environment
