The Payment Services Manager is responsible for the management of the day-to-day operations of the Payment Services team.  The Manager reviews and optimizes processes and procedures to ensure cross-departmental efficiencies in order to provide an effortless experience for employees and our members.

Job Duties:
  • Oversee the processing of a high volume of daily transactions including wire transfers (Domestic, Foreign, Exceptions, Outgoing), Automatic Clearing House (ACH) originations, mobile deposits, mailed in payments, lockbox payments and Person to Person (P2P) transfers using a variety of complex technology systems including core processor for deposit accounts (Fiserv DNA), GFX for wire transfers (Finastra), Ensenta (Jack Henry) for mobile banking and ATM transactons, Alkami for online banking, Fed Advantage for ACH processing, Wells Fargo CEO for foreign currency and checks, and Single Point (US Bank) for lockbox research.
  • Provide direction and ensure all team daily work is completed within established department service standards and in compliance with all applicable laws and regulations 
  • Lead a team of high-performing and engaged employees through effective people leadership practices including regular communication of performance expectations and feedback to employees to maintain high team performance; provide coaching and corrective action as required; actively support employee professional growth and development
  • Manage and deliver team member training and ongoing development for career progression
  • Oversee the creation, documentation, and implementation of procedures, practices, and work methods to support effectiveness, efficiencies and process improvements
  • Meet established department goals; update leader on all major projects, employee issues and goal progress
  • Evaluate high risk and high dollar transactions and make decisions about approval or rejection of respective transactions 
  • Manage and resolve member, vendor and internal  issues by adjusting processes as appropriate
  • Maintain robust knowledge of products and processes related to the department, staying up-to-date on regulatory and operational compliance

Essential Skills: 

  • Minimum Education: Bachelor’s degree in related field of study or equivalent experience
  • Minimum 5 years’ experience in the financial industry, including 3 years’ leadership experience ideally in payment operations or back office operation; experience in reviewing and identifying suspicious/fraudulent activity is preferred 
  • Ability to effectively prioritize tasks, handling a variety of responsibilities simultaneously
  • Excellent verbal and written communication skills; able to express ideas concisely and logically
  • Ability to successfully drive projects and processes in a dynamic and complex operating environment
  • Proven people management and development skills, adept at providing frequent and valuable performance feedback to develop and build employees
  • Strong leadership skills to effectively lead a team through innovation and change
  • Ability to contribute to and deliver a business plan and strategy that coincides with department and credit union directives
  • Detail-orientation with strong problem solving and sound decision-making skills
  • Proven ability to handle sensitive information in a confidential manner
  • Broad knowledge of electronic payments transactions for financial services
  • Proficiency with Microsoft Office Suite
  • Certification/License: AAP, NCP certification preferred
Location: Hillsboro Corporate Office - Hillsboro, OR 97124 (HYBRID)
 
Target Compensation in Hillsboro OR: $87,000 to $97,000 annually + annual bonus
