The Business Intelligence (BI) Analyst, Financial Planning & Analysis performs research, data extraction and analysis, building data and analytical tools and providing financial modeling to support profitability.
Here's what you can expect from the job and what you need to be successful:
Job Duties
- Provide financial modeling specific to profitability using external and internal tools
- Write, execute and maintain code proficiently to create and produce monthly and quarterly reporting and provide recommendations based on analysis
- Research and analyze root causes of identified risk trends and validate data integrity
- Aggregate data from multiple source systems to build data and analytical tools that offer deeper insight into enterprise data, allowing for critical decision making outputs
- Design and build infrastructure for data extraction, preparation, and loading of data from a variety of sources using SQL and/or Python
- Validate data, recognize errors, and make modifications to programs to meet changing needs
- Oversee the maintenance of the operating procedures library and SQL/Python code for producing reports
Essential Skills
- Minimum 2 years’ experience in a complex data analyst role
- Experience building and optimizing “big data” pipelines, architectures and data sets
- Experience applying and developing analytical methods, including data mining techniques
- Experience in the financial services industry is preferred
- Ability to anticipate needs and prioritize projects in a fast-paced environment with tight deadlines and high-volume peaks while producing high-quality work
- Excellent verbal and written communication skills; able to express ideas concisely and logically to all levels
- Strong analytical and problem-solving skills with attention to detail
- Demonstrated effective time management skills and the ability to work independently or in a collaborative team environment
- Familiarity with Tableau is preferred
- Strong knowledge of non-Excel analytical tools such as Python, R, or SAS
- Strong SQL skills and understanding of relational databases
- Advanced knowledge of Microsoft Office Suite, particularly Excel and VBA
- Minimum Education: Bachelor’s degree in Statistical, Quantitative or Engineering is preferred, or equivalent work experience
Location: Hillsboro, OR 97124 | (HYBRID)
Target Compensation in Hillsboro, OR: $86k - 93k annually + annual bonus
