The Manager, Accounts Payable oversees and contributes to the activities of a team of Accounts Payable Associates to ensure a well-functioning Accounts Payable department, in compliance with internal controls and regulations.

Job Duties
  • Lead a team of high-performing and engaged employees through effective people leadership practices including regular communication of performance expectations and feedback to employees to maintain high team performance; provide coaching and corrective action as required; actively support employee professional growth and development
  • Manage Accounts Payable activities including but not limited to processing/paying vendor invoices, reimbursements and expense reporting; Review of general ledger coding on invoices and expense reports; regulatory and tax compliance for vendors, review and completion of 1099 tax report filings
  • Oversee and perform duties related to Accounts Payable month-end close; including preparation and review of month-end reports and reconciliation, monthly and quarterly reports for both Controllership and Enterprise use, including, updating key performance indicators and Tableau dashboards
  • Participate in Oracle quarterly updates for A/P modules, complete new functionality and user testing; partners with First Tech’s Enterprise Solutions and Infovity (First Tech’s Oracle managed services provider) to open Oracle Service Requests if needed, and resolve system issues and communicates changes to impacted parties & update procedures
  • Establish and maintain positive relations with internal and external partners such as vendors, employees, business units that AP regularly engages in cross functional work
  • Maintain and drive a culture that embraces digital technology, drives innovation and automation, and actively promotes new ideas, using data to regularly evaluate current operations and make time and cost saving improvements 
  • Monitor and review Accounts Payable principles, practices, regulations and procedures to ensure quality and continuous improvement; track, report, and evaluate key performance indicators for improved staff efficiency, monitor and update staffing model for any hiring needed, vendor and partner satisfaction, and employee performance 
  • Through problem-solving, drive collaborative cross-functional process improvements & projects    
  • Meet established department metrics; ensuring VP is informed on all major projects, employee issues and goal progress 
  • Develop, implement and maintain financial, accounting, and operational policies and procedures relating to Accounts Payable, including working with First Tech’s Enterprise Governance and Legal Affairs (EGLA) department to update
  • Participate as required in scheduled external opinion audits, external regulatory audits and exams, and internal audits, responding promptly to auditors’ questions and requests 
  • Act as a subject matter expert in advising senior leadership, employees, partners, suppliers, vendors, regulators and auditors regarding Accounts Payable practices, policies, and processes for the enterprise
  • Introduce, drive, and sustain major change initiatives, for example, Automation   
  • Participate in Controllership management projects and initiatives as required 
Essential Skills
  • Minimum 5 years’ experience in Accounts Payable including 2 years managing an Accounts Payable department for a mid to large size organization, preferably in the financial services industry
  • Knowledge of large Enterprise Resource Planning (ERP) applications (eg. Oracle, SAP), as well as 1099 tax filing
  • Knowledge of GAAP and accounting principles and practices, internal controls and credit union regulations and policies
  • Understanding of data collection methodologies and business processes feeding to the general ledger
  • Ability to communicate successfully with and resolve problems 
  • Proven people management and development skills, adept at providing frequent and valuable performance feedback to develop and coach employees
  • Excellent verbal and written communication skills; able to express ideas concisely and logically 
  • Ability to organize, analyze and interpret data to explain complex irregularities
  • Ability to coordinate a variety of activities and projects and prioritize work under tight deadlines
  • Proven analytical and problem-solving skills; ability to resolve complex issues with minimal direction 
  • Ability to foster strong relationships with internal and external stakeholders
  • Working knowledge of state and local taxes (including  property taxes and back-up withholding)
  • Proficiency with financial planning, reporting, and accounting software, knowledge of Oracle Finance Cloud is preferred 
  • Knowledge of Tableau dashboards and Enterprise Data Warehouse preferred  
  • Strong knowledge of Microsoft Office Suite; advanced knowledge of Excel  
  • Minimum Education:  bachelor’s degree in accounting, or equivalent education and work experience
Location:   Hillsboro, OR 97124 | (HYBRID)
Target Compensation in Hillsboro, OR: $80k - $92,500k annually + annual bonus
