Join the Team at American First Finance as a Inside Business Development Specialist! 

The Inside Business Development Specialist (IBDS) is responsible for delivering strong early-stage portfolio performance by onboarding new merchants and accelerating originations during the first 90 days of partnership.

Early merchant production is the primary outcome metric of the role.

This outcome is driven by consistent execution across three performance drivers:

  • Merchant Activation Speed & Pipeline Conversion Discipline
  • Early Relationship Ownership & Production Coaching
  • Outbound Engagement Execution & Activity Consistency

IBDS effectiveness is measured by how quickly and predictably new merchant partners begin generating funded volume.

Essential Duties & Responsibilities

  • Onboard and activate new merchant partners
  • Drive originations and funded volume growth within the first 90 days
  • Make 60-75 outbound calls daily to engage merchants and advance opportunities
  • Manage a structured pipeline and maintain consistent follow-up
  • Coach merchants on financing program utilization and best practices
  • Build strong relationships with merchant decision-makers
  • Monitor performance trends and proactively address gaps
  • Accurately document activities and opportunities within CRM systems
  • Collaborate with Sales, Training, and Operations teams to support merchant success

Minimum Requirements & Qualifications

  • Proven Sales Experience: At least one year of inside sales or phone sales experience—you must know how to pick up the phone, engage, and close the deal.
  • Consistence is a must: We are looking for business professionals with a consistent work history, verifiable on their resume. 
  • Ability to perform basic math calculations proficiently
  • Ability to multi-task in a fast-paced environment
  • Computer literate and able to operate common office machines.
  • Minimum Age: 18 years old
  • High School Diploma, GED, or equivalent experience
