Position Summary: 
       
The Financial Planning and Reporting Manager is an integral leader within Finance responsible for the Bank’s planning and forecast process as well as management reporting. This position will collaborate and coordinate across all areas of the bank and assist the management team in making strategic decisions. The ideal candidate will have a strong understanding of the banking industry, planning, data utilization, and enterprise risk management.  The candidate must have experience leading an enterprise wide planning and forecasting process. This position will be responsible for coordinating and preparing rolling forecasts, developing annual financial plans, assisting in capital planning, conducting financial analysis, evaluating new business opportunities, and managing the internal financial reporting process. In addition, this position will work closely with the leadership teams across the entire organization to develop business plans and financial projections.  The position reports directly to the Director of Finance within the Office of the CFO 
 
Key Responsibilities: 
  1. Financial Planning:
    • Develop and maintain the bank's annual budget, in alignment with strategic objectives and growth targets.
    • Coordinate with department heads to gather inputs for budgeting and ensure accuracy and completeness of financial plans.
    • Drive the development, launch, and adoption of machine learning to improve turn time and forecast accuracy.
    • Monitor budget performance and provide regular updates to management, highlighting variances and recommending corrective actions.
  2. Forecasting and Analysis:
    • Prepare rolling forecasts to provide visibility into future financial performance and identify potential risks and opportunities.
    • Conduct scenario analysis to assess the impact of various factors on financial outcomes and assist in strategic decision-making.
    • Analyze key performance indicators (KPIs) and financial metrics to evaluate business performance and trends.
  3. Financial Modeling:
    • Develop and maintain financial models to support strategic initiatives, investment decisions, and capital allocation.
    • Perform sensitivity analysis and stress testing on financial models to assess resilience to economic fluctuations and market conditions.
    • Collaborate with cross-functional teams to integrate financial models into business planning processes.
  4. Reporting and Presentations:
    • Prepare and present financial reports, dashboards, and presentations for senior management, board of directors, and regulatory authorities.
    • Ensure accuracy and compliance with regulatory requirements and accounting standards in all financial communications.
    • Provide insightful commentary and actionable recommendations based on financial analysis and performance trends.
  5. Risk Management:
    • Enhance and/or establish policies, procedures and controls around the FP&A function.
    • Develop risk mitigation strategies and stress testing scenarios to enhance the bank's resilience to adverse events.
    • Collaborate with the risk management team to implement effective risk monitoring and reporting processes.
  6. Team Leadership and Development:
    • Lead and mentor team members, providing guidance, training, and professional development opportunities.
    • Foster a culture of collaboration, innovation, and continuous improvement within the FP&A team and across all areas of the organization.
    • Manage workload distribution, performance evaluations, and succession planning to ensure team effectiveness and retention.
 
QUALIFICATIONS: 
  • Business Disciplines – Degree in Accounting, Finance, Economics, or related from an accredited four-year college.
  • 6+ years of relevant Banking experience with proven experience specifically within FP&A
  • In-depth knowledge of banking products, financial markets, regulatory requirements, and accounting principles.
  • Understanding of planning and management reporting tools as well as ERP systems
  • High attention to detail and ability to independently navigate complex issues and meet tight deadlines.
  • Excellent communication skills with the ability to present complex financial information clearly and concisely.
  • Advanced financial modeling skills with experience in SQL, BI preferred (Microsoft Power BI/Congos BI)
  • Professional competency in Microsoft Office suite of applications (Word, Excel, Powerpoint, Access)
