This position can be located within any FirstBank branch/office in the West TN community footprint.
 
Summary:  
The Community Area President is responsible for the strategic oversight of relationship management, lending and branch operations across a defined community territory. This leader drives the overall growth, profitability, and market presence of the organization by fostering strong community relationships, optimizing branch performance, and expanding the lending portfolio. The Community Area President ensures alignment with corporate objectives, regulatory compliance, and customer service excellence. This role is critical in advancing the bank’s mission and vision 
  
Essential Duties and Responsibilities: 
  • Lead the overall strategic direction and operational management of all branches and lending activities within the territory. 
  • Work with the Community Market Presidents to set financial goals, growth strategies, and performance benchmarks for the territory. Ensure branches align with corporate objectives and drive initiatives to increase market share, profitability, and operational efficiency. 
  • Work with the Head of Community Banking and other department leaders to identify and implement service and process best practices in a unified approach across all communities. All communities should maintain the same processes to ensure a great customer experience throughout the area.  
  • Monitor and assess market conditions, identifying opportunities for expansion and competitive differentiation.  
  • Oversee and direct all deposit and loan activities, ensuring the territory meets or exceeds growth targets across commercial and consumer portfolios. 
  • Provide expert oversight on risk management strategies, ensuring the territory adheres to all regulatory and compliance requirements in lending operations. 
  • Leverage networks and partnerships to generate new business opportunities and strengthen the bank’s brand within the territory; responsible for acquisition and service strategies.  
  • Oversee the performance of all branches, ensuring they deliver exceptional service, operate efficiently, and meet key performance indicators.  
  • Accountable for the P&L of the assigned market. 
  • Implement best practices and operational processes that enhance customer satisfaction, reduce costs, and drive productivity across the branch network. 
  • Partner with Retail and other business units to ensure operational standards and best practices are consistent across the footprint.  
  • Ensure all branches operate within the bank’s risk framework, regulatory requirements, and operational guidelines. 
  • Ensure all deposit and lending activities comply with bank policies, regulatory requirements, and industry best practices. Monitor portfolio performance and proactively manage credit quality and risk. 
  • Provide leadership to branch managers and senior teams, fostering a culture of accountability, innovation, and high performance. 
  • Cultivate an environment that supports diversity, teamwork, and performance. Provide leadership though communication, performance management, development and recognition of staff. 
  • Manage the team by hiring, coaching, training and providing direction to team members through feedback to support personal development and ongoing improvement.

Education and/or Experience  
  • Master’s degree in business, finance, or a related field preferred. 
  • 10+ years of leadership experience in banking, financial services, or lending with direct responsibility for multi-branch operations. 
  • Proven track record in driving business growth, managing large-scale lending operations, and leading complex, high-performance teams. 
  • Deep knowledge of commercial lending products, credit structuring (including credit approval experience), underwriting, and risk management.  
  • Exceptional relationship-building skills with a history of leadership in community engagement and business development. 
  
Skills and Abilities  
  • Frequent automobile travel required throughout assigned market footprint including overnight stay as needed.  
  • Visionary leadership with the ability to drive strategic initiatives and inspire teams to achieve long-term goals. 
  • Expertise in financial analysis, risk management, and regulatory compliance in the context of large-scale lending operations. 
  • Excellent communication and negotiation skills, with the ability to influence internal and external stakeholders at the highest levels. 
  • Strong entrepreneurial mindset with a passion for community-driven business growth.

  • Ability to demonstrate the highest level of ethical behavior and confidentiality and maintain confidentiality with sensitive information. 
  • Understand and comply with bank policy, laws, regulations as applicable to your job duties. This includes but is not limited to; complete compliance training and adhere to internal procedures and controls; report any known violations of compliance policy, laws, or regulations and report any suspicious customer and/or account activity.
