POSITION SUMMARY:  

 

The Senior Portfolio Manager (Sr. PM) demonstrates advanced proficiency in supporting Relationship Manager (RM) sales efforts through the growth, development and effective management of loan portfolios, helping ensure positive performance. The Sr. PM works independently to assess risk by evaluating, designing and overseeing all aspects of the portfolio construction, and drives profitability by performing advanced and/or broad financial and credit analysis; manages client relationships independently and in conjunction with the RM.

  • Apply an advanced level of credit knowledge, serving as a resource for the RM team and Credit Officer, offering Credit Committee support as
  • Effectively use negotiation skills with a strong focus on the sales process, operating as a bridge between Sales and Credit.
  • Review documents for pre- and post-closing and assist with document
  • Prepare, review and monitor reports to ensure FirstBank guidelines for compliance and credit monitoring are being
  • Analyze complex credit requests and perform financial statement analysis utilizing spreadsheet and analysis
  • Prepare, review and monitor reports analyzing loan commitments and outstanding balances by customer, loan type, property type, location, size, ; responsible for report preparation for board approval.
  • Partner with Credit and Bank partners in support of the RMs to promote client portfolio

  • Perform research to maintain current knowledge of industry trends and changes, ensuring the PM team remains compliant with both FirstBank and industry
  • May lead others and use advanced portfolio management skills to develop the skill sets of the PM
  • Attend internal and client meetings independently representing the PM and/or RM teams as
  • Function as part of the RM team and may back up RMs and/or Relationship Manager
  • Model consistent, distinctive service to all customers when delivering the FirstBank service
  • Practice safe and sound bank procedures, including adherence to applicable laws and regulations, internal controls, operational procedures, risk management policies, and security

KNOWLEDGE, SKILLS AND ABILITIES: 

Education: Bachelor’s degree required, Accounting or Finance preferred

Experience: Minimum five years
