Summary:
A Trust & Investment Support Specialist works collaboratively with the Senior Investment Officer to support investment management and client relationship activities.
Excellent communication, time management, and attention to detail are critical for this role. The Trust & Investment Support Specialist is responsible for client meeting preparation, ongoing client service support, investment portfolio administration, and daily account operational tasks. The role will also provide support for trust operational and administrative duties as needed.
Essential Duties and Responsibilities:
- Support the Senior Investment Officer with client relationship management, including preparing for and/or scheduling client meetings, maintaining ongoing client contact, and responding to client service requests. Assist in gathering, organizing, and inputting client financial data into financial planning and portfolio systems.
- Manage account opening process by working with clients, custodians, and internal teams, with the completion of the account opening checklist, coordinate asset transfers, legal documentation for beneficiaries, compliance and BSA reporting, and populating the appropriate fields on the trust accounting and portfolio management systems.
- Support ongoing client and portfolio administration, including monitoring cash balances, compiling and submitting trade requests for approval and execution, processing transactions, reviewing activity reports, and coordinating account maintenance requests.
- Prepare and update client meeting materials, performance reports, planning worksheets, and administrative and investment reviews in coordination with the Senior Investment Officer.
- Serve as point of contact for client-related requests, preparing and verifying instructions, and coordinating with Trust Operations to ensure timely and accurate processing.
- Support trust administration and operations team as needed, including assisting with requests and providing support during peak processing periods or staff absences.
- Support the Trust team in audit request collection and compliance reporting requirements. Provide information and documentation as needed to meet internal and external audit and compliance deadlines.
- Participate in training and development of fiduciary, investment, and advisory knowledge with the goal of advancing technical and professional skills. Demonstrates continued learning of trust and investment functions and applies sound judgment in accordance with fiduciary and bank standards.
- Exhibits knowledge of fiduciary duties, federal and state trust law, tax law, and prudent investor principles while seeking continued development of fiduciary and advisory skills through training and experience. Understands and complies with FirstBank’s fiduciary standards and practices and applies fiduciary knowledge and judgment to fiduciary relationships.

Education and/or Experience
- Bachelor’s degree in finance, Business, Accounting, or related field, or 1-3 years of relative experience in financial services, wealth management, or client support role.
Skills and Abilities
- Strong organizational, time management, communication, and client service skills.
- Ability to work accurately with financial and client data
- Familiarity with trust accounting or portfolio management systems preferred.
- Proficient use of Microsoft Office applications including Word, Excel, PowerPoint, Outlook and Teams.
- Ability to prioritize and work effectively in a deadline-driven environment
- Ability to handle confidential information appropriately and demonstrate sound judgment
- Professional demeanor and ability to work collaboratively with internal and external partners
- Commitment to continued development in investment and fiduciary services
