First Covenant Trust and Advisors is seeking an intern to join our Operations team. First Covenant is a growing independent trust company with a tight-knit culture and a mission to provide fiduciary services to its clients in an individualized, professional, caring, and cost effective manner.

This position with First Covenant offers potential for an introduction to the trust industry and exposure to different career paths. A successful candidate should have:

• Made progress towards a degree in Economics, Finance, Accounting, or Business Administration
• Related experience (preferred) general knowledge of such fields as accounting, marketing, business administration, finance, etc.
• An ability to use trust accounting system, Microsoft products and other automation tools
• An ability to work in a cross-functional team-based environment
• Skills in written and verbal communication (especially in complex matters)
• High level of problem solving and organizational skills
• Proven attention to detail
• An empathetic attitude and a servant’s heart

This position has a broad range of responsibilities, including assisting the Operations Manager with the following:

• Reconciling shared deposit account and client accounts monthly
• Booking assets into fiduciary accounting software when onboarding new accounts
• Initiating checks for bill payments and distributions
• Generating and saving client statements
• Assisting with the management of trust tax requirements
• Creating spreadsheets to help with analysis or making processes more efficient
