The Consulting team at Fingerpaint Market Access plays the role of developing multichannel,
multisegment strategic plans that will address market issues related to coverage and payment of products through the provision of coverage, coding, and payment guidance and identifying areas of opportunity for clients to obtain appropriate reimbursement. Development and shaping of deliverables and maintaining alignment with clients to ensure satisfaction with work product are core components of these roles. As employees progress in this discipline, increasing focus is placed on executing profitably against contracted project requirements, client presentation, developing and maintaining relationships with all major third-party stakeholders, remaining up to date on health policy through market monitoring and related activities, and providing hands-on support and mentorship for more junior members of the consulting team. 
 

Objective 

The Market Access Director plays a lead consultant role as a functional lead across the company as well as a strategic partner to the client lead. It is expected that you are able to develop multichannel, multisegment strategic plans that will address market issues related to coverage and payment of products, and also consult with clients on annual payer marketing strategy and tactics, working with the team to produce deliverables such as flash cards, product info sheets, media advertisements, etc. Additional responsibilities include executing profitably against contracted project requirements, client presentation, developing and maintaining relationships with all major third-party stakeholders, remaining up to date on health policy through market monitoring and related activities, and providing hands-on support and mentorship for junior colleagues staffed on a case.  

 

Duties and Responsibilities 

  • Application of accumulated knowledge to manage projects independently to successful completion. Ability to upsell existing clients and turn projects under management into follow-on work 
  • Able to develop multichannel, multisegment strategic plans 
  • Capable of interfacing competently with multiple departments responsible for the product 
  • Skilled at spotting, assessing, and communicating opportunities and challenges on behalf of clients 
  • Manage and can articulate long-term strategic goals 
  • Deliver activities within the budget and timelines 
  • Advanced professional written and oral communication skills, including presentation skills 
  • Able to assess and respond to customer needs and evaluate customer satisfaction 
  • Able to influence the client’s perspectives, views, and decision-making through the strength of acknowledged judgment and expertise 
  • In-depth industry and market access knowledge 

 

Requirements and Experience       

  • Minimum of 8 years of experience in managed markets and payer marketing.
  • Experience working in the consulting industry is preferred  
  • Strong understanding of federal (US) payer environment, including areas of (1) approval, coverage, and reimbursement for both physician-administered and self-administered therapies and (2) health policy 
  • Detailed understanding of federal (US) executive and legislative branch healthcare policy and payment rate-setting authorities, processes, and responsible parties 
  • Detailed understanding of Medicare and Medicaid statutes, regulations, and subregulatory policies related to coverage and reimbursement of healthcare products and services 
  • Demonstrated ability to prioritize and manage workload and meet project deadlines 
  • Strong project management skills 
  • Excellent communication, interpersonal, and management skills are required 
  • Must enjoy working in demanding environment as a key member of a dynamic, team-based organization 
  • Advanced degree in health policy, pharmacy, nursing, business, law, or science is preferred
