MedThink, a Fingerpaint company, offers extensive medical communications through two distinct divisions: MedThink Communications, which provides healthcare communications and marketing services to commercial teams and MedThink SciCom, which harnesses deep scientific knowledge and extensive industry experience to develop solutions for medical affairs, medical communications, and publication groups.
The Director of Project Management is responsible for department operations including, but not limited to setting clear goals and objectives, developing, and implementing processes and best practices, identifying, and mitigating risks, monitoring, and controlling project progress, communicating project updates and progress, and providing leadership and mentorship to the project management team.
In this role, the director leads the department which is the hub for project workflow, estimates and timelines, and any project-related information. The department lead oversees the internal workings of MedThink Communications to ensure the execution of high-priority work, optimal resource management, executional excellence, timeline management, and project-level financials.
Duties and Responsibilities:
· Communication
· Drive difficult or complex brand discussions with department leads
· Advise on technical solutions, usability, and data integration fulfillment
· Skilled at influencing and persuading across agency
· Represent department in company-wide communications
· Advocate for Project Management Best Practices during leadership meetings Project Management
· Collaborative business partner to team capability leads and agency leadership
· Will function as PM lead for some brands
· Seeks to optimize both agency services and internal resources
· Responsible for ensuring continuous improvements are identified and established, and that their project teams use flexible project planning designed to support the strategic,
· Creative and executional process
· Develops key operational tools and processes
· Responsible for the quality and consistency of work across department
· Maintain functional understanding of breadth and depth of agency portfolio to assign brands and workload appropriately across Project Management team, and advise on assignments for other lines of business
· Responsible for oversight into building timelines and crafting estimates across the department
Financial
· Partners with PM, Account, and Finance leads to ensure accurate, complete, reliable agency forecasting
· Evaluates and acts on utilization trends and staffing requirements for the department
· QC Agency SOWs before sending to finance for review; ensuring a) assumptions are reasonable and all assumed costs are included/excluded; b) staffing allocations are appropriate for each department based on initiatives/lifecycle of product
· A member of agency leadership, works to maximize client profitability across agency
Job Requirements:
· Bachelor’s degree in related field
· PMP certification
Preferred Experience:
· Prior experience in the Director or Associate Director of Project Management role
· 8+ years project management experience, of which a subset has been spent managing direct reports
· Previous experience at a promotional medical education or medical advertising agency. Digital/Interactive agency experience required with strong understanding of web technology and infrastructure
Preferred Qualifications
· Possess leadership qualities and command authority naturally. Be an optimistic and supportive leader viewed in a favorable light and valued by the organization
· Simultaneously possess both soft people skills and strong, hands-on project management skills
· Professional presentation and polished client management skills
· Proficient in Workamajig time management tool, MS Project, Word, Excel, PowerPoint, Visio
