Description
MedThink, a Fingerpaint company, offers extensive medical communications through two distinct divisions: MedThink SciCom, which harnesses deep scientific knowledge and extensive industry experience to develop solutions for medical affairs, medical communications and publication groups, and MedThink Communications, which provides healthcare communications and marketing services to commercial teams that leverages performance-driven medical education to enhance HCP beliefs and understanding.

The Medical Writer is responsible for the development of scientific and medical content in a variety of formats (slides, advisory board meetings, websites, etc.); accurate interpretation of data; presentation of medical content, including clinical discussions about treatment options with clients and HCPs; efficient planning and organization; establishing effective working interactions with editorial, creative, account services, and project management teams; and efficiently producing high-quality deliverables. Position matriculation includes Senior Medical Writer, Associate Medical Director, Medical Director, and Senior Medical Director.
Position Requirements
· PhD, MD, PharmD, or advanced nursing degree
Experience
· Prior experience with developing PPT presentations about clinical or scientific topics, analyzing clinical trial data, summarizing scientific literature about a specific disease state or other topic, or other medical writing experience
· Presenting scientific overviews or independent research to peers or at conferences, with publication of scientific manuscripts in peer-reviewed journals a plus
· Prior experience developing content at a promotional medical communications agency is preferred (can include internship or freelance experience)
Position Responsibilities
Demonstrates behavior expected of a professional member of the organization, including but not limited to:
· Serve as a therapeutic category expert while working in cross-functional teams
· Participate in internal meetings, attend and participate in external client/HCP meetings, take meeting notes, and apply feedback/decisions to post-meeting deliverables
· Create accurate scientific/medical writing for a variety of medical communication and promotional projects
· Translate scientific concepts into promotional content in collaboration with copy writers, creative directors, and medical directors
· Research (eg, literature and competitor searches)
· Stay up-to-date on scientific developments and their medical implications
· Understand the clinical utility of therapeutic choices within disease states
· Ensure quality standards of promotional medical writing
· Support new business initiatives
· Represent the agency with the highest standards in all endeavors
· Regular engagement with pharmaceutical clients and HCPs, with support from colleagues at MedThink
· Willingness to travel (~5-10%)

· Ability to handle multiple timelines
· Proficiency in Microsoft Word, Excel, Outlook, and reference management software (e.g., Endnote, Reference Manager)
