They're now looking for a Purchasing Officer to join their growing Operations team in a remote setup. This role is essential for supporting their company growth by managing complex local and international supplier relationships to maintain a seamless supply chain

What You’ll Be Doing

Reporting directly to an Australia-based manager, you'll be part of the Operations team, supporting the critical goal of ensuring an efficient and cost-effective supply chain. Your key tasks will include:

  • Manage Supplier Relationships: Achieve seamless supply chain operations by effectively managing relationships with local and international suppliers.
  • Drive Cost Optimization: Conduct pricing comparisons, analyze costs, and negotiate competitive international freight rates to reduce costs.
  • Ensure Timely Delivery: Secure reliable services to ensure products are delivered On-Time, In-Full (DIFOT).
  • Enhance Inventory Efficiency: Maintain a regular stock ordering schedule and actively manage inventory to increase stock turnover and reduce Slow-Moving and Obsolete Stock (SLOBs).
  • Maintain Data Accuracy: Keep software systems (like Cin7) updated with accurate lead times, Estimated Time of Arrivals (ETAs), and approved supplier information.
  • Support Product Development: Proactively raise Purchase Orders for R&D to prevent project delays and conduct minor procurement tasks for new products.

 

What You’ll Bring

  • At least 5+ years experience in similar fields, preferably experience in the lighting or solar industry.
  • Proficiency in Netstock or similar inventory systems.
  • Experience in procurement for Manufacturing facilities.
  • Understanding of Bill of Materials (BOM) concept.
  • Fair, ethical negotiation skills.
