Job Summary:

The Wind Electronic Technician III will safely and efficiently work with a team responsible for electronic component maintenance on electronics laboratory. Performs maintenance at the parts exchanged from the wind turbine, repair, or replacement of Electronic Components to correct malfunctions. Works independently and serves as a mentor for less experienced technicians. Help in all areas of site operations as directed by management.

Essential Duties & Responsibilities:

  • Follow all assigned Environmental, Health and Safety procedures.
  • Troubleshoot and conduct circuit analysis (24VDC, 166, 1k VDC, 120, 230, 400, 575, 690, 1k, 6k, 34,5k VAC), resolve advanced electrical and electronics problems on variable pitch components, and variable speed turbine components and variable wind turbine components.
  • Performs advanced electronic maintenance tasks including Control Systems (Software and Hardware, SCADA Systems (Software and Hardware), toolbox and similar software.
  • Verify electrical/electronic connections and schematics.
  • Perform diagnosis and electronic repairs on Wind Turbine Components.
  • Understand how works the turbine’s systems and components control software.
  • Troubleshoot advanced electronics problems.
  • Properly document work performed, including parts usage and time worked.
  • Perform quality control inspections on repairs and maintenance functions.
  • Prepare timely and concise reports regarding inspections to ensure proper steps are taken to remedy any deficiencies.
  • Interact closely with on-site maintenance and providing guidance and training when applicable.
  • Comply with all Quality Processes.
  • Responsible for immediate report of errors, violation of procedure/policy, or problems to Fieldcore lead for action. Implement “Stop Work Authority” as necessary.
  • Ability and willingness to work holidays, weekends and overtime as required by field assignments (unless applicable local laws apply)
  • May be assigned other duties to help proactively drive our FieldCore vision and align with our organization’s core values.

Required Qualifications & Experience:

  • Technical degree or diploma in Electronic or Automation discipline from an accredited college or university OR equivalent experience in related industry.
  • Equivalent of 4+ years of experience in the field or Electronic Maintenance Area.
  • Solid understanding of AC/DC electrical circuits.
  • Solid understanding of electronics components (Circuit Board, Resistors, Capacitors, Transistors, IGBT).
  • Valid driver’s License (if driving is required)

Desired Characteristics:

  • English proficiency preferred
  • Experience with recording data and data analysis
  • Proficient with electrical test equipment and reading schematics.
  • Proficient with electronic components maintenance tools.
  • Ability to read and interpret documents such as safety rules, operating and maintenance instructions, procedure manuals and components datasheets.
  • Ability to write routine reports and correspondence.
  • Knowledge on develops Test Jigs for repair validation.
  • Knowledge and experience practicing EHS and Quality Procedures.
  • Effective Communicator – works well in team environment.
  • Comprehend and retain provided safety training and be able to follow safety procedures.
