Job Summary:

The Payroll Operations Director I implements payroll strategies, policies, and procedures in alignment with business requirements and local regulations. Oversees payroll processes and procedures to drive timely and accurate delivery of employee pay to the FieldCore workforce globally. Manages payroll teams globally located in Latin America, North America, Europe, Middle East & Africa and Asia.

Essential Duties & Responsibilities:

  • Lead global payroll operations across multiple regions to provide accurate and efficient payroll services to all employees
  • Provide strategy and direction to automate and continually improve global payroll processes
  • Propose and implement recommendations to streamline process and improve systems to increase team efficiency, process accuracy, and timeliness
  • Develop and implement policies and standard operating procedures as part of process standardization
  • Ensure payroll processing is compliant with local regulations at all times
  • Manage payroll costs for processing, including 3rd party fees
  • Create and implement payroll metrics and dashboards to highlight areas of opportunity for the business
  • Measure and monitor the effectiveness of the global payroll provided services
  • Partner with third party vendors to meet business requirements in processing payroll
  • Resolve complex, global payroll challenges in a quick and effective manner
  • Work closely with local HR teams and payroll providers to monitor changes to regulations to ensure compliance with local laws and company policies
  • Partner with leadership teams in the designated regions to improve effectiveness and efficiency of critical processes
  • Ensure seamless payroll integration of new employees, including via acquisition or transfer, into company payroll
  • Integrate new payroll requirements due to change in local law, collective bargaining agreements, business policies, or individual contracts
  • Apply acquired expertise to analyze and solve problems without clear precedent
  • Manage the performance and results of a team within own discipline or function
  • Adapt departmental plans and priorities to address resource and operational challenges
  • Provide technical guidance to employees, colleagues and/or customers
  • Travel may be required
  • May be assigned other duties to help proactively drive our FieldCore vision and align with our organization’s core values.

Required Qualifications & Experience:

  • Bachelor’s degree, or equivalent
  • 11+ years progressive experience and demonstrated success/knowledge
  • 6+ years managing and developing multi-discipline teams, preferably with international reach across multiple service types
  • 5+ years of specialized/industry experience
  • English proficiency required

Desired Characteristics:

  • MBA preferred
  • Excellent knowledge of accounting principles and best practice, computer software for accounting, financial statements and their preparation, payroll reporting and systems
  • Excellent leadership, interpersonal, teambuilding, and problem-solving skills
  • Very good communication skills, with well-developed verbal, written and presentation ability
  • Exceptional analytical, financial, commercial and communication skills
  • Ability to provide sound, practical advice in response to complex and rapidly changing conditions
  • Ability to work independently
  • Ability to handle multiple, competing projects concurrently with a results-oriented focus
  • Ability to understand and adapt to continuously changing environment with complex challenges
  • Some travel required
