Job Summary:

The Project Controls Manager I develops fully resourced project schedules related to complex rotating equipment maintenance outages in the Industrial, Oil and Gas, and Utility industries across the globe. Uses comprehensive understanding of Primavera software functionality and accounting, financial terms, and general project management methodologies. Assists Project Controls COE with process improvements and systems alignment.

Essential Duties & Responsibilities:

  • Develop base project schedule templates in accordance with cross-functional team’s input
  • Prepare and develop resource loaded project schedules in line with job cost estimate standards
  • Maintains Primavera activity codes, calendars, and resources
  • Work with the data analytics team to develop metrics, contextual analysis, and reports to a variety of internal and external stakeholders
  • Monitor and support Project Control Advisors (PCA) efforts to ensure optimal cost interfaces with schedules, and to troubleshoot PCA experienced anomalies as they interface with project schedul
  • Monitor, direct and support schedule utilization compliance
  • Responsible for driving and maintaining training across PCA population and outage teams
  • Analyze lessons learned and recommend process improvements and template updates to drive future behaviors and methodologies
  • Maintain standardization of global processes
  • Travel to outage sites and regional offices as required to support specific project control needs
  • Manage the Regional Project Matrix and project schedules enterprise, produce the schedule templates based upon a variety of technology and frames by working with the Value Stream team
  • Coordinate best project control practices in accordance with established standards and procedures
  • Assist the internal team with developing potentially complex outage resource loaded outage schedules based upon the templates including assignation of activity codes, resources, and calendars
  • Develop and maintain Primavera training across the company
  • Travel may be required

Required Qualifications & Experience:

  • Bachelor’s degree with three years’ field experience in a Project Controls capacity
  • 7+ years applicable experience and demonstrated success/knowledge
  • 2+ years managing and developing employees
  • 2+ years of specialized/industry experience
  • Advanced level working knowledge of Primavera (project management software) and Microsoft Excel
  • English proficiency required
