Field Service Technician - Wind Remote, Turkey

Job Summary:

The Installation Technician Lead is accountable for the Wind Installation at the site by working within a matrix organization and coordinating with onsite teams. Will have responsibility of the site operations from the receiving phase through mechanical completion (pre-commissioning). Will oversee field teams and sub-contractors to achieve the project field objectives.

Essential Duties & Responsibilities:

  • Act as the single point of contact for the installation site to address project installation changes
  • Drive excellence in productivity and quality
  • Ensure EHS compliance in accordance with company policies and procedures
  • Ensure site installation reporting guidelines are being followed and are accurate
  • Review of site daily reports, issues and progress
  • Work to standard field installation processes
  • Document receiving/installation lessons learn from sites
  • Escalate employee issues to management as needed
  • Support on all receiving/installation technical information
  • Drive zero punch list prior to mechanical completion of sites
  • Assist teammates in accomplishing operational objectives / goals, as well as mentoring lower level technicians.
  • Conduct visual verifications of work being performed by technicians.
  • Serve as an ambassador for Safety, Quality, and Integrity including, but not limited to, conducting audits and driving completion of site safety observations.
  • Provide oversight to all site installation personnel to create an environment that builds teamwork, drives effective reporting, communications and facilitates success in compliance with all Fieldcore Policies.
  • Provide feedback on employee performance throughout site projects
  • May be assigned other duties to help proactively drive our FieldCore vision and align with our organization’s core values.
  • Travel required
  • Ability and willingness to work holidays, weekends and overtime as required by field assignments

Required Qualifications & Experience:

  • Technical degree and/or college diploma in electrical or mechanical engineering OR
  • Equivalent of 3 years’ experience in the field
  • Previous experience leading others
  • Must have a valid driver’s license
  • English Proficiency Required

Desired Characteristics:

  • Expert level. Able to act as a senior company rep on any outage for the unit qualified. Acts as project manager and mentor on complex projects
  • Experience with modeling and analysis programs for wind turbines.
  • Proficient in the use of computers and PC software.
  • Excellent customer, communication, and interpersonal skills
  • Ability to travel extensively in support of global assignments.
  • Fluent in English language
  • Bilingual preferred

Physical Requirements

  • Must be able to climb a 300 feet wind tower multiple times per day.
  • Must be able to walk across the hub and, in the event of an emergency, repel off.
  • Must be comfortable working at heights of up to 300+ feet.
  • Must meet specific weight requirements of tower ladders under OSHA standards of 250 to 300 lbs. max, including personal protective equipment (approx. 30-35lbs).
  • Must be comfortable working in confined space(s).
  • Must be able to see and move throughout site to resolve work problems and facilitate processes; repetitive motion activities may be involved.
  • Frequent climbing, walking, and standing, bending, kneeling, and squatting.
  • Ability and willingness to handle repetitive weight up to 50 lbs.
  • Successful completion of the climb test and tower rescue training.
