Job Summary:

The Material Coordinator is responsible for preparation, planning, receiving, inventorying, accepting, accounting and reporting of materials related to assigned site project, in compliance with safety, time schedule, and satisfactory quality. Will report discrepancies for incoming project designated material. Responsible for locally procuring material in accordance with company procurement guidance while ensuring needed supplies and consumables are readily available on hand when needed to meet project demands.

Note - the position will be based in Pune.

Essential Duties & Responsibilities 

  • Lead and implement Site Material Handling execution and procedures for assigned site project.
  • Develop Material re-ordering strategy for installation site required materials for the demand pushed from Service now cases.
  • Material re-ordering procurement for site parts like, maintenance, spares parts, additional qty ordering etc. of Wind turbines.
  • Working closely with site team for material requirement, obtain necessary approvals from Project managers prior to purchasing and maintain the record of the same.
  • PO creation and timely PO acknowledgement from suppliers.
  • Manage open POs through confirmations for deliveries and updating it in ERP.
  • Ability and willingness to work holidays, weekends and overtime as required by field assignments
  • Travel may be required
  • May be assigned other duties to help proactively drive our FieldCore vision and align with our organization’s core values.
  • Creating and timely upgrading the required reports, database for daily activities and other related documents.
  • Timely resolution of ‘On Hold’ invoices for the various sites;
  • Day to day communication with various stakeholders like Site Team, SQE, Commodity leaders, Suppliers on the timely actions and resolutions.
  • Supplier Management – Work on supplier addition / modification in the system.
  • Involve working with both local & Foreign suppliers

Required Qualifications & Experience:

  • Bachelor’s degree or equivalent years of experience in a sourcing-related role
  • 3+ years of logistics planning and execution experience
  • Must be able to read and interpret technical manuals
  • Able to connect and communicate across all level of site personnel and internal colleagues/stakeholders.
  • English proficiency required

Desired Characteristics:

  • Proven experience as Materials Manager
  • Knowledge of “best practices” to set up site records as they pertain to GE’s on-site receipt, issue, and storage of MSD, and BOP material.
  • Basic knowledge of material handling, loading, moving, and rigging of MSD, and BOP material.
  • Familiar with supply chain and inventory management systems
  • Financial skills including cost modeling, analysis, and forecasting
  • Ability to leverage metrics and other tools to drive supplier performance
  • Excellent organizational and leadership skills
  • Good analytical problem-solving ability.
  • Good technical writing, documentation, and record keeping skills.
  • Ability to contribute in a cross functional collaborative environment.
  • Proficiency in Microsoft Office, including Word, Excel, PowerPoint and Access.
