Job Summary:

The Lean Projects and Programs Manager I partners with Regional Lean Project teams to manage Projects and Programs and deploy programs both regionally and globally. Collaborates across Value Streams, Tooling Design, and FieldCore Tooling to drive Productivity tooling needs for outage cost productivity.

Responsibilities:

  • Manage Projects and Programs with global application, partnering with Regional Lean Project teams to deploy regionally
  • Standardize and implement global processes and tools into the regions, focusing on both tactical execution success and strategy related to development, utilization, and penetration to reduce overall outage cost
  • Utilize the Innovation Hub and Post Outage Review to evaluate ROI and Value Stream needs and guide ideas to Committee, NPI, UAT and Industrialization
  • Support the Innovation Hub and New Tooling sub-value stream
  • Simplify and optimize Tooling Innovation Hub process and systems
  • Track Productivity tooling needs for outage cost productivity
  • Implement key tooling innovations created or designed by Value Stream Leaders through submission, review, NPI, UAT, and industrialization
  • Manage Fieldcore GTOS and HLC tooling related usage/plan
  • Partner with regional teams to implement global productivity programs, projects, and tools to reduce overall outage hours and cost, including parts, labor, and materials
  • Work with vendors to drive on time delivery, order fulfillment, and cost-out initiatives
  • Support outage Event management teams to ensure tooling initiatives are met
  • Partner with engineering, Tooling and other functions to ensure correct equipment updates are made and distributed on time
  • Create and manage process to effectively track and report tool/equipment usage
  • Track and document new tool usage in the field
  • Travel will be required
  • May be assigned other duties to help proactively drive our FieldCore vision and align with our organization’s core values

Required Qualifications & Experience:

  • Bachelor’s degree or equivalent in related field with 7+ years of Field Engineer or Project Management experience; additional years of experience in power generation can be substituted for degree
  • 2+ years of specialized/industry experience
  • Strong experience in power generation and field services experience in Heavy Duty Gas and/or Steam Turbine maintenance
  • English proficiency required

Desired Characteristics:

  • A deep understanding and experience with gas turbine outage execution
  • Experience with lean methodologies
  • Experience with outage productivity tooling and developing cost remediation projects & programs
  • Excellent communication and management skills and strong interpersonal skills; ability to work with all levels of employees
  • Former Field Engineering, Outage Management or Service Manager experience
  • Tooling management experience
  • Strong project planning and organizational skills
  • Experience with prototype development, fabrication, modeling, manufacturing, repair, or other technical skills
  • Ability to handle multiple projects concurrently
  • Very results-oriented
  • Work well both independently and in a team environment, including in remote work settings
