Job Summary:
The Machinist Supervisor will be an experienced machinist, with a high level of expertise. Will have overall responsibility for ensuring that all machinery is both set up correctly and operated in line with the agreed method statements and is suitable for the scope of work to be carried out. Will oversee the safe replacement of all machine components, as and when required. Will quickly address and resolve mechanical operating issues. Has the responsibility to lead teams of machinists on site both from a technical and leadership point of view whenever required as per the job. Ensures quality, EHS, and technical guidance to the team.

Essential Duties & Responsibilities:

  • Lead and supervise repair jobs at Customer sites and act as the representative of OSS in front of the customer (internal and external) to ensure safe, quality and timely completion of work
  • Execute assignments according to FieldCore’s EHS and Quality requirements and ensure rules are understood by the crew prior to the start of work
  • Deliver expectations on EHS, Quality, On-Time Delivery, Productivity and Cost Reduction
  • Complete all pre-job planning and post job reporting required, fulfilling the needs of the customer as assigned including machine and tooling preparation, ordering parts and supplies and preparation and review of EHS Safety Plan / Quality Plan
  • Responsible for all aspects of the On-Site machining (OSM) service offering to be able to independently complete assignments to the satisfaction of the customer; typical repair activities to include Turbine rotor machining and blade replacement, Turbine casing weld and machining repairs and valve seat retrofits
  • Develop innovative service offerings, deliver training to broader OSS team, and drive safety, quality, and customer-centric culture to OSS team onsite
  • Provide OSS progress reports to internal customer team and OSS Service Manager
  • Ensure proper documentation as specified on Test & Inspect Plans, Work instructions
  • Ensure equipment calibration, proper usage of equipment and right material incorporated
  • Responsible for carrying out all Pre-Job briefs, ensuring the whole team is fully aware of their responsibilities
  • Responsible for the preparation of all RAMS in line with the scope of work to be carried out: Ensuring all documentation being used is both current and accurate: Report any situation where this is not the case
  • Supervise all machining operations and resources, including FieldCore, GE who are supporting the outage.
  • Notifies all non-conformances and tags/segregates any equipment which is deemed non-compliant
  • Drive FieldCore's Stop Work and Safety/Quality Concern culture, promoting awareness of the team’s surroundings, work conditions and any changes to those conditions which could impact the level of risk or job completion
  • Responsible for ensuring OSS Service Managers are kept up to date on progress, productivity and site issues
  • Have overall responsibility of all On-Site Services machining activities, both on-site and, where required in customer or GE workshops
  • Ability and willingness to work holidays, weekends and overtime as required by field assignments
  • Travel may be required

Required Qualifications & Experience:

  • Bachelor’s degree or equivalent work experience
  • 6+ years of experience in a machining specialist role or Field Service Repair
  • Experience in Microsoft Office Suite
  • Flexible with travelling at short notice (national & international) for an extended period
  • Must have Valid Passport, Driver License

  • Ability to gain access to and work in nuclear power plants and foreign countries
