Job Summary:

EHS Manager will contribute to the implementation and maintenance of EHS processes, systems and procedures to promote management, employee and contractor involvement in relation to workplace EHS.

EHS Manager will contribute to the development and communication of policies, programs and initiatives, the Advisor will assist with and support the EHS auditing schedule (Operational & Compliance programs) and will also conduct onsite inspections & employee engagements. The advisor will also be required to participate in the investigation of any incident or event as part of the EHS investigation team and ensure that lessons learned are communicated to all personnel.

EHS Manager will collect and analyse data from multiple sources to provide input for EHS performance reporting needs and use that knowledge to develop recommendations for the leadership team to ensure EHS compliance is maintained, and continuous improvement opportunities recognised. EHS Manager will assist in the provision of training for employees on safety programs and support the maintenance of training systems to drive growth in the EHS culture and generate NO HARM.

Essential Duties and Responsibilities:

  • Contribute to the development and maintenance of processes and procedures to promote employee and contractor involvement in relation to workplace EHS
  • Ensure that all employees are informed of, comprehend, and comply with EHS policies and procedures as well as local regulations
  • Provide input and contribute to the development of an effective Incident Prevention Program in support of NO HARM
  • Communicate EHS Alerts and updates regarding injury and illness awareness, ensuring lessons learned and mitigating measures are actioned/verified
  • Participate in conducting internal audits and provide recommendations to improve audit scores, and assist with preparing for audits and inspections by customers or government entities, including but not limited to federal, state, or local municipalities
  • Interact with customers, and other functions for pre-qualification and outage/project planning requirements
  • Assist with managing incident and injury reporting within specified guidelines, including the management of the Workers’ Compensation Program within the team
  • Assist with accident investigations and analyse root causes to determine and implement safety measures which prevent future incidents
  • Support the design and implementation of EHS training plans and arrange for new hire training
  • Conduct, implement, and monitor risk assessments and verification of mitigating measures to reduce risk
  • Monitor EHS documentation to ensure it is up to date and properly stored
  • Implement and manage Safety Task Assignments and Risk Assessment training
  • Monitor the EHS training system, including customer and/or job specific required training, maintain records, provide course updates when applicable, and assist in troubleshooting technical problems with course content
  • Contribute to the input of EHS event data including but not limited to injuries, illnesses, audits, safety observations, near misses, vehicle accidents, and internal/external awards
  • Conduct data mining for EHS events and training and create reports during required time periods and/or as needed
  • Provide EHS Director with analysis of metrics and recommended ways to improve safety policies and programs
  • Perform other duties as assigned
  • Frequent travel is required


Required Qualifications & Experience:

  • At least 10 years of experience in a similar EHS related position in construction, power generation, or technical industry
  • ISO Auditor and Formal Incident Investigation certification will be given high regard
  • Must have strong management abilities and an in-depth knowledge of local EHS laws
  • Field experience is required
