HR Director, Employee Relations, ( 22-6736)

Job Summary:

The HR Director will be a key member of the global FieldCore HR staff, and HR Business Partner for the global Tooling organization This position includes accountability for the delivery of organizational development and change, talent management, leadership development and coaching, staffing and succession planning, employee relations, and field services people processes for the function supported. Additionally, the HR Director will serve as a business partner to FieldCore leadership staff across North America on employee and labor relations strategy, tactics, and execution.

Essential Duties & Responsibilities:

  • Lead the development and execution of a contemporary employee & labor relations strategy to engage front line workforce and maintain a positive employee relations culture
  • Partner with Global Tooling GM to develop and align HR strategy globally, and outline deliverables to meet annual KPIs, goals and objectives.
  • Provide overall HR leadership to employees across the tooling function (300+ employees across the globe) including but not limited to talent development and succession planning, performance management, staffing, compensation planning and analysis, coaching, workforce planning strategies, change management, organization design, inclusion and diversity strategies to cultivate a high performance culture.
  • Serve as employee advocate and expert where the business has gaps in HR practices or risks in operations. 
  • Develop tool center site assessment scorecard operating plan and create a COE operating rhythm to assess risks. Work with HR team to implement practices or changes to mitigate risks.
  • Drive positive employee relations training across the organization for managers and HR staff, including front line leadership training, site assessment training, and personnel relations immersions
  • Develop and drive positive, employee involved culture across tool center sites, tied to great leadership and company values (safety, quality, integrity, and inclusion).
  • Partner with general managers to drive tool center employee engagement and communications activities.
  • Serve as a thought leader for employee relations in the business and explore external best and next practices.
  • Partner with legal and compliance to analyze and interpret trends and issues, labor regulations, and national and state laws to understand their impact on the company, and adjust employee relations practices as needed
  • Collaborate with HR COEs (HR Programs and Compliance, Total Rewards, Talent Development, People Technology, HR Operations, Talent Acquisition), on global program alignment, change and implementation
  • Support global NDA projects as applicable
  • Travel required
  • May be assigned other duties to help proactively drive our FieldCore vision and align with our organization’s core values.

Required Qualifications & Experience:

  • Bachelor’s degree in Business, HR, Labor Relations, Organizational or Behavioral Science, Psychology, Economics, Public Relations, or related field
  • 10+ years progressively responsible experience in Human Resources, Employee & Labor Relations, Talent and Organizational Development, or Learning and Development.
  • 6+ years of global and/or regional HR experience, supporting functions, business lines, P&Ls, or field based teams
  • English proficiency required

Desired Characteristics:

  • MBA or Master’s degree in HR, Labor Relations, Organizational or Behavioral Science, Psychology, Economics, Public Relations, or other related field preferred
  • Strong understanding of NLRA, Taft Hartley and other labor law acts, as well as right to work state laws.
  • Experience maintaining a positive culture workplace, both with and without unions.
  • Strong knowledge of power generation industry field operations and services business models
  • Experience in manufacturing and warehouse operating environments, partnering with front line employees and leadership.
  • Strong team building skills
  • Continuous Improvement minded. Ability to drive efficiency and simplification into processes
  • Strong financial acumen and leadership, interpersonal, & analytical skills
  • Ability to work in a matrix environment, influence and motivate diverse teams to achieve a unified goal
