Let’s Talk about the Role

As the Regional Payroll Manager, you will manage regional payroll activities and lead special projects impacting the entire global payroll operation.

How you will make the difference:

Creating a working environment for team to deliver world class customer service the FieldCore employee population, as the Payroll Manager you will:

  • Manage global payroll team to perform day-to-day execution activities
  • Provide leadership and direction to the payroll team including training, recruiting, hiring, performance management, disciplinary actions, and succession planning
  • Ensure accurate and timely region payroll processing in accordance with local statutory and business requirements
  • Ensure the stability and quality of the payroll process, coordinating corrections and designing process improvements when required
  • Stay current with pay regulations, practices, and compliance requirements and build internal knowledge base for payrolls
  • Ensure understanding of the complex payroll environment based on local statutory rules, works council/union requirements and local internal policies
  • Proactively conduct horizon scanning in relation to legislative changes and suggest simplified payroll structures that could flow therefrom
  • Work with Business Support team to publish monthly metrics on payroll performance
  • Create and manage efficient processes and troubleshoot data issues
  • Collaborate with local HR and Operational partners to simplify and standardize existing payroll process to reduce opportunities for defects
  • Solidify roles and responsibilities with business partners regarding required activities to onboard employee for time entry and payroll purposes
  • Lead quality review process (root cause analysis; corrective action, etc.) solutions
  • Support periodic labour and payroll audits (internal and external) by providing pertinent data in a timely manner as well as ensuring all payroll data is filed and maintained accurately
  • Benchmark current practices against industry best practices to identify opportunities for improvement to enhance internal operations

Skills for success:

You will be an accomplished Payroll or Accounting leader with experience managing and developing people. You will also have:

  • Previous management experience in payroll processing including time and expense reporting
  • Thorough knowledge and understanding of local wage and work time regulations in region, including pensions and taxation.
  • Culturally sensitive and preferably experienced in managing a cultural and time zone dispersed team
  • Advanced knowledge of Microsoft Office (Excel, Word, and Outlook)
  • Extensive working knowledge of accounting and payroll software applications
  • Experience with region legislation impacting payroll concepts

A formal education and subsequent University Bachelor or Master’s degree in Accounting or Business are nice to have, but we are most interested in your total experience and professional achievements.
