Global Technical Training Director, ( 21-5019)

Job Summary:

The Technical Training Director II will create and execute the technical training strategy and ongoing development roadmap for all FieldCore field employees in partnership with the Houston Learning Center (HLC) training curriculum. Will have a matrixed partnership with the other FieldCore training pillars: Talent Management (Leadership, Soft Skills/Functional Training) and LEAN to deliver training and development offerings aligned with ensuring our field employees appropriately execute on their responsibilities and expectations. Will direct the planning, development, and management of contemporary, technical training strategies, curriculums, and materials in alignment with global competencies in order to increase employee proficiencies. The scope of this role will encompass the training and development for multiple lines of business’ field resources and be accountable for the planning, prioritization, and execution of the training and development activities.

Essential Duties & Responsibilities:

  • Develop and execute the technical training strategy for all FieldCore field employees
  • Lead team responsible for the design, development, and delivery of technical training, advising teams on technical development plans, tracking applicable metrics and maintaining compliance on all regulatory requirements for field employees
  • Partner with Global Resource Directors and other functions to conduct a needs assessment of all trainings/processes, identify competency and/or skills gaps and propose training curriculum
  • Design and develop classroom or eLearning training course curriculum in conjunction with technical SMEs, Talent Management and/or vendor teams
  • Oversee facilitation by internal and/or external trainers of all technical classroom training; evaluate effectiveness and enhance course design as needed
  • Lead annual field employee training and budget process; matrixed ownership of global training costs including HLC footprint costs
  • Oversee technical training operations to include classroom training schedules, enrollment, communications, budget, etc
  • Manage competency standardization, classroom training evaluations and OJT assessments to drive consistency at all levels
  • Partner with HLC and P&L Learning leadership to deliver classroom training and align on development expectations for field employees
  • Prepare and present monthly operating KPI’s to Region, HQ leaders, CEO
  • Travel required
  • May be assigned other duties to help proactively drive the FieldCore vision and align with our organization’s core values.

Required Qualifications & Experience:

  • Bachelor's Degree from an accredited four-year university or college or equivalent
  • 12+ years leading a global training/learning function/team in a matrixed organization
  • 7+ years managing and developing teams, preferably with international reach across multiple service types
  • 6+ years of specialized/industry experience
  • Strong leader able to influence, collaborate, and partner with multiple stakeholders, regardless of reporting lines, to achieve goals and results
  • English proficiency required

Desired Characteristics:

  • Master’s degree preferred
  • Prior field or resource management experience
  • Proven ability to build strong relationships and influence cross-functionally
  • Strong presentation and facilitation skills
  • Strong communication skills (verbally and in writing) and ability to present concepts clearly and comprehensively at all levels, inclusive of Executive team members and CEO
