As part of the Gas Power One Field Services team, FieldCore installs, maintains, and upgrades power generation equipment, enabling operators of the world’s energy infrastructure to provide more reliable and affordable energy. 

Job Summary:

The Field Intern, after completing health and safety training, will learn the fundamentals of FieldCore Turbine and Generator products under the Guidance of experienced Field supervisors/Engineers/TFAs. This role will assist with variety of engineering projects of varying sizes and scope under direct supervision.

Essential Duties & Responsibilities:

  • Undergo training to learn the fundamentals of the Turbines and Generator product lines as well as completing the required environment, health and safety training that is Pre-requisite to visiting sites
  • Develop skill in the use of Field Core web-based applications
  • Learn basic technical skill and perform site work with direct instruction and supervision
  • Learn the fundamentals of project management, scheduling, resource loading, and cost control to support the Field Team during major overhauls
  • Assist the SM and Field Engineers to plan jobs, expedite shop repair activities and facilitate parts orders critical to outages
  • Assist the Service Manager in the research projects, simplification projects
  • Provide remote and on-site support and communications to the FieldCore team
  • General Tech/Admin assistance to the Ops team
  • Receiving customer calls
  • Expediting short-notice purchasing and shipping for overhaul jobs
  • Organizing activities and logistics
  • Ability and willingness to work holidays, weekends and overtime as required by field assignments
  • Travel may be required
  • May be assigned other duties to help proactively drive our FieldCore vision and align with our organization’s core values.

Required Qualifications & Experience:

  • Students in major of Engineering (Chemical, Computer, Electrical, Mechanical, Manufacturing, Mechatronics, Software, Systems).
  • Open to current students who will be returning to their in-class studies upon the completion of the work term.
