Role Overview
As a Technical Field Advisor for Boilers, you’ll provide advanced technical expertise on fossil-fired steam generator equipment and systems (Boilers/HRSGs). You will act as the trusted advisor to customers, guiding operation, maintenance, and performance improvements while ensuring safety, quality, and reliability.
Key Responsibilities
• Deliver high-level technical services at customer sites, adapting to diverse field conditions.
• Troubleshoot, evaluate, and optimize boiler and HRSG performance.
• Assess equipment suitability, remaining life, and root causes of failures.
• Lead teams of service engineers on major projects (commissioning, upgrades, capital projects).
• Act as the primary customer contact, resolving complex technical and logistical challenges.
• Develop and deliver training programs to customer personnel on OEM equipment.
• Support account teams with technical expertise to enhance customer strategies and business growth.
• Mentor and manage junior engineers, sharing your technical expertise.
• Ensure customer expectations are met while upholding the company’s reputation for excellence.
Qualifications & Experience
• Degree in Mechanical Engineering, A.S. in Power Plant Technology, or 8+ years of equivalent field experience.
• Strong technical expertise with Boilers, HRSGs, and related systems (Pipework, Pressure parts, Pulverizers, Precipitators, etc.).
• Knowledge of related plant equipment (turbines, generators, environmental systems).
• Proven leadership in managing projects and teams in industrial environments.
• Exceptional problem-solving, technical writing, and communication skills.
• Ability to mentor others and act as a subject matter expert across multiple equipment types.
