FI’s Financial Data Modeling role encompasses the methodologies, tools, and approaches that transform client data into a valuable asset. The primary responsibility of this individual is to process and analyze data used in a variety of critical applications, e.g., acquisitions, loan origination, account maintenance, collections.

Responsibilities:

  • Develop accounting system business requirements
  • Review code enhancements to determine whether enhancements are compliant with accounting policies
  • Review and validate accounting ledger posting rules to ensure compliance
  • Analyze and interpret data sets in various software packages using statistical and financial techniques
  • Collect data from various sources, perform analysis and interpret results to assist in making impactful business decisions
  • Secure and protect company and client data and information and prevent its improper disclosure.

Required qualifications:

  • BS/BA in finance/accounting, or related degree
  • Certified Public Accountant (CPA) a plus
  • Active Ginnie Mae Clearance
  • 0 - 2 years of experience working with financial data
  • Experience in accounting, auditing, and financial reporting within the mortgage industry or relevant field (i.e., housing finance, accounting for mortgage loans, claims, reverse mortgages, and the related credit loss, REO assets, and guarantee accounting). Experience must include working with mortgage loan servicing data, FHA/VA/USDA claims data, and REO data.
  • Knowledge of methods for preparing data for statistical models
  • Experience with one or more programming languages a plus (SQL, SAS, Python, R, or similar)
  • Familiarity with data visualization tools and techniques, preferably Tableau
  • Ability to articulate highly technical information in a simple, concise, clear, and understandable manner

Preferred qualifications:

  • Certified Public Accountant (CPA) a plus
