Who we are looking for: 

First Eagle is seeking an Advisor Consultant (External Wholesaler) to cover all products in Southern California (San Luis Obispo and below) and provide support to RIA and Wirehouses. The right person will have a solid industry background in addition to strong relationship-building abilities and superior communication skills. An in-depth understanding of the financial services industry is essential since our clients include many of the investment community’s most highly regarded professionals. 


What you will do:  

  • Responsible for sales and marketing of First Eagle Funds within the Southern California region
  • Effectively develop relationships within advisors in the RIA channel to promote business-building ideas and services
  • Develop new relationships and maintain and broaden existing relationship with financial advisors in assigned market segment and geographical territory through targeted prospecting activities
  • Maintain a high level of expertise related to the capital markets, the investment management industry, and marketplace developments
  • Speak with Advisors directly and proactively establish rapport and create interest in product
  • Profile advisors and how to help them increase their business
  • Learn, know and be able to present all focus products and value-added pieces
  • Develop and implement a sales plan to capture available opportunity in the most efficient and cost-effective way
  • Proactively identify prospects in the assigned territory and work autonomously to manage them to closure
  • Deliver sales literature, collateral, hypothetical, and sales ideas to facilitate sales process and enhance Advisor relationships
  • Maintain constant and open communication with Manager and Internal Sales Desk Manager by using sales contact database and by recording activity on all calls

The qualities you should have: 

  • Must reside within the Southern California area
  • Undergraduate Degree preferred in business, finance, or related field
  • Series 7, 63, 65 (or 66)
  • 4+ years of asset management sales experience, field experience preferred
  • Exceptional knowledge of markets and business acumen to influence decision-makers
  • Proven track record of meeting or exceeding predetermined key goals
  • Polished executive presence, effective listening, client preparedness, and presentation skills
  • Professional characteristics reflecting curiosity, empathy, and enthusiasm coupled with a solution-based drive to meeting highly accountable results
  • Excellent interpersonal and relationship management skills, a true team player
  • Ability to work unaided and adapt quickly and resourcefully to changing situations
  • High energy and the ability to maintain a peak state of performance throughout the day
  • Proven planning and organization skills
  • Willingness to commit to extensive travel within region
