Who we are looking for:

First Eagle is looking for a Head of Total Reward. The ideal candidate will have the ability and expertise to lead the planning, administration, and implementation of all compensation and benefits programs and policies, with the goal of ensuring that our employees are getting the best possible rewards. By partnering with the Head of Human Resources, this individual will also ensure that our programs are aligned with business objectives and strategies. In addition, they will lead the HR analytics function, ensuring a strategic and tactical approach to managing HR data.

 

The ideal candidate will need to stay current with industry best practices and work closely with other members of the HR team and department heads to assess incentive and compensation structure recommendations that allow the firm to maximize business results. The work is both strategic and hands-on and includes both special projects and ongoing responsibilities. This hire will report directly to the Head of Human Resources.


What you will do:

  • Develop, implement and oversee the compensation and benefits programs for First Eagle and its affiliates, ensuring they are market competitive, provide value to employees and are cost effective for the organization
  • Responsible for providing leadership and operational support for HR systems and analytics while developing value-added solutions to meet current and future HR needs
  • Maintain a working knowledge of legislation as it relates to compensation (including deferred compensation), benefit programs (including the 401(k) Plan), and data protection (including HIPAA and GDPR); work with HR Business Partners to ensure compliance with respective laws and regulations
  • Participate in all phases of company acquisitions, including due diligence, evaluation of compensation and benefits plans and integration of these plans
  • Manage three team members, HR Data and Systems Manager, Compensation Associate, and HR Benefits Manager

 

Compensation

  • Evaluate the firm’s competitive practices, assess the firm’s position to market and make recommendations to ensure that our compensation practices are cost competitive and innovative while aligning to the firm’s guiding principles and meeting our business’ needs
  • Drive the design, planning, implementation and communication of compensation plans that include base salary, bonus, commissions, and other incentive programs
  • Lead the annual bonus and salary processes, including the building and management of compensation models and analyses
  • Lead the research, development and evaluation of new compensation strategies and structures to support our various businesses both in the US and internationally
  • Partner with management to design, model and administer the sales compensation programs
  • Manage the annual compensation benchmarking processes to ensure the competitiveness of compensation programs
  • Collaborate with industry experts, Head of HR, CEO and other senior leaders to determine compensation plans or practices that maintain the firm’s competitive position
  • Manage and administer the long-term deferred incentive compensation programs
  • Partner with the HR Business Partners to ensure employee understanding of our incentive and deferred compensation programs through training programs and written and verbal communications; collaborate with them throughout the year in making compensation-related recommendations for recruitment, promotions, transfers, etc.
  • Partner with vendor to update and enhance the compensation system (CompXL) to continually improve efficiency and user experience

 

Benefits

  • Oversee the design, administration, communication, and compliance of the company’s Health and Welfare benefit programs, including healthcare, dental, vision, HSA, FSA, disability, leaves and time off policies, as well as other plans
  • Monitor utilization, short- and long-term cost analyses of the company’s benefit programs to inform the revision, development and/or re-design of existing benefits programs
  • Responsible for the administration of the 401k Retirement Plan including partnering with the plan administrator and 401(k) Investment Committee
  • Design communication programs to increase perceived value of programs and ensure appropriate understanding by employees

 

HR Systems and Data

  • Overall ownership of all HR-related systems and tools, primarily in UltiPro
  • Oversee HR reporting and analytics, developing and providing insights through data analysis
  • Drive efficiency through streamlining of processes and developing automated solutions

 

The qualities you should have:

  • Undergraduate degree; graduate degree preferred
  • 12+ years of HR compensation and analytical experience, preferably in the asset management industry
  • Demonstrated experience in the design, development, analysis, and management of compensation and benefits programs
  • Excellent written and verbal communications skills
  • Strong project management skills, with a strong track record
  • Expert in Excel, Word, PowerPoint
  • Resourcefulness, self-starting mentality, and analytical acumen, with strong ability to identify and solve complex problems
  • Ability to manage diverse work streams and multiple, competing deadlines
  • Strong management skills to supervise team
