Who we are looking for:

First Eagle is seeking a Vice President, Product Manager to join the Product Management and Development team. This role represents an opportunity for an experienced product management candidate to shape and implement positioning and messaging of the firm’s products. You will be responsible for the management of the existing product set and will drive strategic product planning across multiple traditional and alternative asset classes and distribution channels.

 
What you will do:

  • Perform analyses related to portfolio positioning, attribution and risk, market trends, competitive positioning, and pricing.
  • Engage and work closely with the Retail, Institutional, International Wealth Management, and Retirement sales teams to provide timely updates on the firms strategies and relevant competitive intelligence
  • Build strong relationships with the investment team to develop an ability to communicate investment insights and portfolio positioning to internal and external constituents.
  • Provide regular in-depth analysis of industry flows, product trends and market dynamics impacting the industry and First Eagle products for Senior Management
  • Collaborate with Head of Product and Applied Research team to conduct in-depth portfolio analysis and communicate findings to Sales/Distribution on product-related questions
  • Build and maintain a level of knowledge on institutional and retail investment vehicles, providing regular feedback on product development opportunities
  • Support the learning & development for sales training initiatives
  • Partner with marketing and distribution teams to develop and maintain accurate and effective positioning of products and contribute to the process of creating channel-specific messaging which resonates with clients and prospects
  • Analyze and make recommendations on how to optimize current products in terms of market relevance and competitive positioning, pricing, investment vehicle structure and other product considerations
  • Use a variety of industry analytical tools and databases to develop and maintain market and competitor landscape reports and generate insights that would inform and influence firm’s product strategy

 

The qualities you should have:

  • Undergraduate degree in Finance, Economics, or related field. MBA, and/or industry designations (CFA, CFP, CIMA, CAIA) a plus
  • 10+ years of proven product management experience at respected asset management firm(s), with deep knowledge of alternative investment strategies and vehicles preferred
  • Intellectual curiosity and passion for financial markets
  • Strong understanding of the institutional and retail marketplace, investment vehicles, client needs, market trends and the competitive landscape
  • Experience with multiple asset classes including equities, fixed income, multi-asset and alternatives, with particular emphasis on fixed income/alternatives in both retail and institutional distribution channels.
  • Ability and interest to play both strategic and executional role and operate at all levels of organization
  • Strong analytical, attention to detail, and problem-solving skills are critical
  • Effective written and verbal communication skills; ability to manage interpersonal relationships vertically and horizontally across multiple channels/workflows
  • Collaborative; client-first mindset
  • Proficiency with industry tools, such as Morningstar, eVestment, Strategic Insight, FactSet, Lipper, Bloomberg, Preqin, and YCharts preferred
  • Strong Excel, PowerPoint, and Word skills are critical to success
  • FINRA Series 7, 63/66 designations a plus, but not required

 

Base Salary range: $150,000 to $190,000. In addition, this role is eligible for an annual incentive bonus. Compensation may vary based upon, but not limited to – the individual's skills, experience, qualifications, and internal equity.
