This is a hybrid position based out of Feeding America’s Washington, DC office location. At Feeding America, we believe in offering a flexible work environment. Employees can be in the office an average of 2 days a week (when not travelling for work) and work from home on other days. Employees also have access to a 30-day “work anywhere” program during the course of each calendar year that can be combined with PTO and/or holidays.

You can expect us to offer the best salary up front based on these clearly defined pay practices with little room for negotiation. We make exceptions for highly experienced (multiple years of at-level experience) new hires in accordance with our pay practices. Once hired, employees have the opportunity to progress through salary ranges via regular merit increases and step promotions.
Salary Range: $101,000 - $106,000 Based on Experience.
Responsibilities:
- Manage a portfolio of food and grocery donors which includes food and grocery companies donating millions of pounds annually. Lead donation procurement, donor stewardship, communication, and issue resolution for portfolio of accounts.
- Develop relationships at all appropriate stages of a food/grocery company’s supply chain and strengthen the network’s status as a preferred recipient of food and grocery products, including bulk, unfinished product, ingredients, and nonfoods.
- Implement, manage, and track business strategies that help secure more product donations from assigned accounts and in developing new business.
- Manage, track, analyze, and distribute donor donation reports on a monthly to quarterly basis.
- Co-create and implement effective, strategic action plans for holistic donor support in partnership with Corporate Partnerships and Development, engaging all key stakeholders to ensure programmatic success. These priority accounts could be developed to maximize one or more of the following: food/product, funds, volunteers, professional services, in-kind for disasters, free transportation, etc.
- Monitor food and grocery industry trends including product development and implement sourcing changes to maintain and expand relevance for food rescue and other product partnerships.
- Create new training tools and communication vehicles which will assist partner food banks with identifying, educating, securing, and servicing donors.
- Build and maintain relationships with key trade associations; leverage those relationships for greater awareness, speaking opportunities, conference discounts/scholarships, advocacy, and support of product donations.
- Develop productive, collaborative relationships with partner food bank staff to nurture mutually beneficial industry partnerships benefiting national, regional, and local organizations and communities. Key internal collaborators in this work: Food Sourcing Services, Agri team, possibly co-ops/Boundless Collaborations, Member Engagement and Food Safety.
Required Experience and Qualifications:
- 5+ years of food and grocery industry experience in account sales and/or management.
- Food banking experience in product sourcing a plus.
- Ability to analyze data and derive business insights.
- Proficient in MS Office applications.
- CRM Proficiency (Ex.: Salesforce).
- Strong organizational and project management skills. Can manage multiple tasks simultaneously.
- Strong written and verbal communicator with interpersonal skills for networking and relationship management.
