THE ROLE:
 
Our Marketing & Communications team operates as an in-house marketing agency that supports First Capital nationally. From managing internal and external communications to spearheading leasing and property marketing efforts and building high-quality physical and digital collateral, our team is there every step of the way, ensuring consistency in the FCR brand across the board. 
 
Within the Marketing Team, our Yorkville Marketing group operates to service the marketing needs for our Yorkville (and others) portfolio. As Marketing & Events Coordinator on the Yorkville Team, you will work to support the marketing and events plan, as well as support the operations and logistics of on-site events and activations. This will include corporate communications, various marketing initiatives, the development and implementation of compelling digital assets and copy, marketing budget administration, vendor management, and more.
 
WHAT YOU WILL DO:
  • Lead the planning and implementation of events, activations, and other programming.
  • Develop and drive marketing event project plans from inception to completion, reporting on event KPIs.
  • Serve as the point person onsite for setup, troubleshooting, and breakdown of events.
  • Monitor event budgets and ensure all marketing activities stay within budget.
  • Handle day-to-day administration of events and programs, including order placements, vendor monitoring, travel planning, reservations, attendee participation, registration counts, RSVP tracking, and issues resolution.
  • Create and maintain comprehensive event timelines and task lists, delegating responsibilities to team members and volunteers as necessary to ensure all aspects of events are on track.
  • Collaborate with cross-functional teams to support in-person events, ensuring cohesive planning and execution.
  • Ability to work into the evenings on occasion for events and activations.
  • Assist in coordinating various marketing assets and projects including e-blasts, activations, social media, and web content, etc.
  • Support the larger Marketing & Communications team with projects where required.

WHAT YOU BRING:

  • Post-secondary program in Marketing and Communications or a related field.
  • One (1) to three (3) years of relevant experience in Marketing and Communications, Events, or related fields.
  • Prior experience in marketing or communications in real estate is an asset.
  • Prior experience in event planning or event coordination in a corporate and/or retail environment.
  • Knowledge and experience in retail, fashion, events, social media.
WHAT YOU NEED TO BE SUCCESSFUL: 
  • Highly creative and have strong knowledge of Microsoft Apps, Canva, and PowerPoint.
  • Strong writing and communications skills to effectively collaborate with various internal and external partners.
  • Ability to work independently in a dynamic environment, dealing with multiple priorities and deadlines through organizational and time management skills.
  • Excellent vendor management and budgeting skills, including pricing negotiation, invoicing, and recordkeeping.
  • A self-starter with good judgment, excellent service delivery skills, and a commitment to quality.
  • A team-player; willing to step in and lend a hand as needed and identify the opportunities to do so.
  • Desire to learn and grow, and a willingness to stay updated on the latest marketing trends and best practices.
  • Flexibility to work evenings and weekends as needed for events.
