THE ROLE:
The General Manager will be responsible for the financial and operational performance of the GTA East Market. The General Manager will provide the leadership necessary to implement operational standards, initiatives, and procedures to effectively support the delivery of “best in class” operations and strategic alignment to enhance assets performance. The General Manager will be responsible for maintaining and enhancing Tenant relationships and the First Capital brand as the leading manager and operator of retail properties.
WHAT YOU WILL DO:
- Direct, coach, and lead the dedicated site team in the day-to-day operations.
- Set, monitor and support performance goals and objectives for the site team, ensuring alignment and accountability with corporate strategy.
- Ensure the development of strong Tenant relations and proactive service delivery, including expedient resolution of Tenant & Stakeholder issues and timely communications.
- Ensure implementation of policies and procedures, including operating standards, Health, Safety and Environmental.
- Ensure implementation of relevant contracts, preventative and replacement programs, staffing or services and sustainable programs.
- Prepare, monitor, and report on all property expense schedules, budgets and related to achieve NOI goals for all assigned properties. This includes monthly rents, percentage rents, miscellaneous income and parking facilities, annual operating budgets, and marketing budgets/programs.
- Oversee accounts receivable and actively liaise with internal teams regarding rent collection and arrears.
- Monitor parking operations, maintenance and retrofit and overall, NOI performance.
- Ensure a smooth and constant flow of information between internal teams such as leasing, construction, legal, lease administration, marketing, and property accounting.
- Participate in special projects and take on other duties as needed.
WHAT YOU WILL BRING:
- 8–10 years of property management experience within retail or mixed‑use environments.
- Strong working knowledge of commercial, retail, and residential shared settings.
- Exceptional financial acumen with the ability to manage complex budgets and interpret operating results.
- Solid understanding of building operations, technical requirements, and industry standards.
- Professional designations such as RPA, CFM, CPM, FMA, CSM, or ASM are considered strong assets.
