THE ROLE: 
 
Reporting to the Manager, Accounts Payable, the Accounts Payable Supervisor will oversee the daily operations of the Accounts Payable team to ensure timely and accurate payment processing. The Accounts Payable Supervisor will manage and maintain departmental administrative functions and complete all Medius issue resolution and reporting.
 
WHAT YOU WILL DO:
  • Oversee the daily payment processing tasks ensuring timely and accurate completion with adherence to deadlines and processing guidelines.
  • Monitor workload balance and task assignments to optimize team efficiency.
  • Complete daily Medius issue resolution, provide training to users as required and monitor KPIs.
  • Generate monthly Medius aged invoice reports for distribution to users and support teams to resolve aged invoices.
  • Participate in weekly AP team meetings to manage and discuss:  transaction processing status, issue resolution, internal/external customer queries with 48 hour response.
  • Complete electronic funds transfer (EFT) supplier setup processes according to prescribed review procedures.
  • Ensure team members have the appropriate training, tools, and resources to effectively complete their tasks.
  • Complete monthly reconciliation of the AP subledger to the General Ledger. Work with teams to resolve aged invoices.
  • Maintain and update excel forms utilized by internal clients including Employee Expenses, Non-PO and Wire and the Supplier Master listing.
  • Provide documentation requirements for internal and external audit.
  • Conduct annual review of the supplier master to identify and address inactive and duplicate suppliers.
  • Manage and participate in supplier master additions and updates.
WHAT YOU BRING:
  • Two (2) + years of Accounts Payable Supervisory experience, preferably in real estate with multiple legal entity structures.
  • Post secondary education in Accounting, Finance, or Business with an understanding of accounting principles and procedures.
WHAT YOU NEED TO BE SUCCESSFUL: 
  • Experience supervising an Accounts Payable (AP) team in a team-oriented environment.
  • Strong technical skills with experience in:  JD Edwards Payables, Automated Payable processing with OCR technology, supplier management and Microsoft Office 365.
  • Practical understanding of accounting principles and procedures and of GST, HST, QST.
  • Excellent analytical skills with strong diagnostic and problem-solving competencies.
  • Well-developed communication and presentation skills.
