THE ROLE:  
 
As Building Technician, you will carry out day-to-day tasks as assigned to support property operations and improve property assets. Reporting to the Operations Manager, you will help to ensure that set properties are maintained safely and to the highest level of operational efficiency. 
 
WHAT YOU WILL DO:
  • Receive incoming work orders and follow through to resolution.
  • Urgently respond to incidents as directed.
  • Complete assigned maintenance tasks (painting, minor repairs).
  • Attend site to assist vendor access as required.
  • Complete meter reading tasks on a monthly basis as required.
  • Complete compliance inspections as assigned.
  • Utilize existing Operational Technology.
  • Update asset inventory data regularly as requested.
WHAT YOU BRING:
  • Related education or working towards or completion of related Building Operations certifications is an asset (5th Class Power Engineer).
  • Experience with hands-on maintenance tasks, including basic repairs, painting, and equipment inspections. 
  • Strong interpersonal skills with the ability to communicate clearly (written and verbally).
  • A service-oriented attitude; cares about providing exceptional customer service, with the ability to problem solve and offer solutions over a wide variety of disciplines.
  • Excellent attention to detail and exceptional time management skills to coordinate multiple priorities and deadlines.
  • Strong computer skills, knowledge of Microsoft Office, iPhone operation, and experience with Computerized Maintenance Management Systems.
ADDITIONAL REQUIREMENTS:
  • You must be available to work on-call/standby after regular business hours and respond to emergency calls to provide sufficient building coverage.
  • The role will require regular travel to a portfolio of buildings thus, a valid driver's license and clean abstract will be essential. A personal vehicle will be utilized and mileage reimbursed.
  • You must be able to work outside in all weather conditions, climb ladders, lift loads up to 50 lbs. and operate common hand tools.
