    • Hourly Compensation: $75,000 - $80,000 depending on experience.

Position Overview: The Senior Cash Reconciliation Analyst is responsible for the accurate and timely reconciliation of all incoming payments, including payer remittances, patient payments, and electronic transactions across multiple systems. This role ensures financial accuracy and revenue integrity by identifying, analyzing, and resolving complex discrepancies impacting billing, accounts receivable, and financial reporting. The Senior Analyst serves as a subject matter expert in payment workflows, leading root cause analysis and driving process improvements. The role partners cross-functionally with Finance, Accounting, and Revenue Cycle teams to align reconciliation practices and support accurate financial reporting. Additionally, this position contributes to the development and refinement of reconciliation procedures, supporting system optimization and special projects related to cash operations.

Essential Responsibilities:

  • Lead daily reconciliation of all deposits across practice management systems, clearinghouses, payment portals, and merchant processors, ensuring alignment with bank activity and the general ledger and proactively identifying variances.
  • Responsible for the investigation and resolution of complex cash discrepancies, including variances, timing differences, unposted funds, and system exceptions, determining root cause and implementing corrective actions.
  • Oversees payer remittance workflows (ERAs, EOBs), including optimizing conversion of paper remittances to electronic formats and improving automation to enhance posting efficiency and accuracy.
  • Manages and resolve complex cash application scenarios, including non-standard remittances, unapplied cash, and suspense accounts, establishing guidance and best practices for resolution.
  • Serves as a cross-functional liaison between Revenue Cycle, Finance, and Accounting to drive timely resolution of payment issues, ensure alignment on reconciliation practices, and support accurate financial reporting.
  • Analyzes and identify trends in payer behavior, reconciliation discrepancies, and reimbursement anomalies, providing actionable insights and recommendations to improve cash accuracy and cycle time.
  • Establishes and maintains reconciliation controls and documentation standards, supporting audit readiness, internal controls, and month-end close in partnership with Finance and Accounting.
  • Prepares and present reconciliation summaries, variance analyses, and supporting documentation to Finance leadership, contributing to decision-making and financial transparency.
  • Leads process improvement initiatives related to cash reconciliation and payment workflows, including SOP development, system enhancements, and implementation of new tools or processes.

Travel:

  • Travel to a local clinic 1–2 times per month to support printing and mailing of payer remittances required until transitioned to an electronic process.

Minimum Qualifications:

  • High school diploma or general education degree (GED) required. Associates degree preferred.
  • Six years experience in payment reconciliation, payment posting, data analytics, or medical billing within a healthcare or revenue cycle environment required, including at least two years of healthcare clerical experience.
  • Intermediate to advanced Excel skills required, including VLOOKUP/XLOOKUP, pivot tables, and reconciliation formulas, along with proficiency in the Microsoft Office Suite.
  • Demonstrated knowledge of ERAs, EOBs, payer remittance logic, and posting workflows.
