Director Data Insights and Intelligence
Portfolio Intelligence, Location: Flexible

We are looking for a Director of Data Science and Engineering to join the Extreme Networks Insights and Intelligence team. In this role, you will work closely with our Customer Success, Customer Experience, Product/CTO, and IT teams to design and implement a data architecture which will provide data-driven decision making.    You will lead a team of data scientists and engineers. Working with the senior business leaders you will determine the desired business outcomes and how to use data to achieve these outcomes. 

In this role you will partner with business leaders in order to determine their data needs and how best to deliver the required data infrastructure to support those needs.  In order to support the growing needs of Extreme’s SaaS business, you will be helping to define, measure, and report on key business performance metrics.   The implementation of a new digital adoption platform and customer success platform will require you to help determine the data inputs required and how to best use the new data provided by these platforms to improve and drive the business.   


  • Working under the guidance of the leader of the Portfolio Intelligence team, manage a team of data scientists and data engineers.
  • Directly work with the CTO/CPO to support various data initiatives
  • Directly work with Customer Success in their day-to-day data needs and operations
  • Provide cross-functional leadership to drive a data culture.
  • Take a leadership role in the definition of Customer Success metrics in our Cloud and SaaS offerings.
  • Working with the IT team, continuously improve the quality of our data in the data warehouse and define required business schemas to support the organization
  • Using statistical modelling and machine learning techniques, provide leadership in business forecasting.



  • 10+ years of related experience in establishing and growing a data science practice in a large company
  • A proven track record as a decisive, action-oriented individual, who has led cross-functional global teams to define and achieve high value objectives.
  • Proven leadership in a fast-paced, dynamic environment with executive presence and credibility.
  • The successful candidate must be a team player, supporting and promoting team accomplishments with a proven ability to drive change through influence and collaboration across a matrix organization in a highly fluid environment.
  • Ability to manage and deliver in a fast-paced, highly accountable environment.
  • Comfort with ambiguity and complex problems.
  • Must live and personify the values of Extreme – Teamwork, Transparency, Candor, Curiosity, Ownership, and Inclusion.
  • Completed an advanced degree in a quantitative discipline (Engineering, Statics, Finance, Mathematics, Economics)
  • ML/AI competency. Knowledge of best-in-class data modelling techniques.
  • Knowledge of customer success platforms and digital adoption platforms an asset
  • Experience with defining and implementing an Enterprise data warehouse
  • Excellent writing and communication skills. Executive presentation skills.
  • Familiarity with data visualization software and techniques. Experience with Tableau an asset.
  • Ability to work with large datasets and provide concise analysis and insights.
