About the Role
The Multilingual Learner Professional (MLL Paraprofessional) provides support to students who are English Language Learners in the Newcomer Program at Excel Academy Greenway. The MLL Paraprofessional is a member of the Learning Support Department (LST), and reports to the Dean of Student Supports.  
 
This is a 1 year position for the duration of the 2025 - 2026 school year. 
 
Starting Salary and Start Date: $40 - 50k, commensurate with experience. The ideal candidate would start as soon as possible.
 
Your Impact
Excel is seeking an MLL Paraprofessional to: 
  • Provide additional academic support and behavioral support as needed to English Language Learners in the General Education setting 
  • Communicate with families to share regular updates on student progress
  • Support with arrival, recess, and dismissal duties 
  • Confer and collaborate with content teachers and specialists to better support all learners 
 
Qualifications
  • A high school diploma or equivalent, AND 
    • An associate's (or higher) degree; OR 
    • Completion of 48 credit hours at an Institution of Higher Education; OR 
    • Completion of one of the formal Massachusetts-endorsed Assessments: Parapro or WorkKeys
  • Experience working with English Language Learners preferred; 
  • Experience in an urban public school or charter school setting preferred

Preference will be given to applicants who share points of intersection with our students, such as speaking Spanish, Portuguese, Arabic, or a language commonly spoken by our students and families at an advanced level, being first generation college graduates, or having grown up low-income.
