Overview 

Exabeam is currently looking for a Principal Architect to join our engineering team. The successful candidate will provide technical direction and support for Exabeam’s platforms. As a hands-on architect you will work with teams of engineers to transform the way our customers do business.  

You will be responsible for designing our next generation of cloud-based products, building micro service-based applications that can deliver flexible capabilities to different user bases, and providing technical leadership to teams to achieve Exabeam’s product vision through active mentoring, technical decision-making, and driving and facilitating company-wide collaboration. 

In this role you will work with a talented engineering leadership team executing Exabeam’s platform and product strategy. The successful candidate must have extensive experience architecting complex greenfield enterprise scale commercial cloud/SaaS software platforms and products.

Responsibilities: 

• Lead the architecture for our next generation platforms. 

• Lead the architecture of the critical core services in the platform. 

• Define standard principles and frameworks for consistency across Exabeam. 

• Provide knowledge and support to the Exabeam engineering organization to increase adoption of enterprise or domain-specific standards. 

• Disseminate our technical vision, guidelines, and technologies to other architects and engineering teams, Product Management, Operations teams, and executives across Exabeam. 

• Ensure that the Exabeam engineering organization is meeting business, customer, community, partner and quality objectives. 

• Be a respected leader in the company and the industry. Establish a strong collaborative culture with peers and other functions within Exabeam. Promote a culture of success, pride, performance, discipline, and creativity. 

• Be an effective spokesperson and champion.  

• Work closely and engage with direct reports and peers to establish an environment that is motivating and entrepreneurial in nature. 

• Work especially closely with Product Management and Marketing teams to obtain prompt resolution to key business issues likely to impact product release schedules, product requirements, product quality, and business operations. 

 Required Skills: 

• Proven track record leading architecture of multiple enterprise scale greenfield transformational Cloud/SaaS platforms/products 

• Cloud expertise is critical to success in this role 

• Demonstrated architectural & implementation skill sets to deploy, maintain, and troubleshoot cloud solutions. 

• Deep understanding of micro-service-based architectures and building performing, scalable and durable solutions in cloud environments 

• Cloud Application Design patterns and frameworks  

• Experience with various access control models and standards, including SSO and ID Federation 

• Polyglot programming skills 

• Expert-level Java required and Go would be a plus 

• Demonstrable interest in emerging / nascent technologies 

• Required experience using AI tools to improve productivity, technical decision-making, and engineering workflows 

• Highly proficient in communicating technical issues with developers, product owners, executives, and other stakeholders 

• Experience acting as a technical liaison between Product Management, Engineering, and Operations 

• Able to express complex concepts in plain language for greater understanding across teams and departments 

• Experience with producing System Architecture diagrams and supporting documentation 

• Broad knowledge and experience with DevOps-oriented processes and toolsets 

• Solid experience in the administration and performance tuning of application stacks 

• Extensive experience conducting code reviews 

• Able to plan, conduct, and report on architecture design reviews 

• Working knowledge in application, system, and network security 

• Experience in reporting and analytics architectures a plus 

• Experience with event-driven architectures and messaging systems  

• A team player, who works effectively in a team-based organization, collaborates multi-functional, and builds support and alignment around goals and objectives.
