Writing Manager, Product Documentation for AI-Driven Security Operations Platform
 
Are you a talented technical writer with management experience who thrives in a fast-paced environment, leading teams to create top-notch documentation that delights customers? We're seeking a writing manager to join our dynamic team and help shape the future of our product documentation.
 
As a writing manager, you'll play a crucial role in crafting high-quality documentation experiences for our customers, who rely on our products to enhance their security posture. With a keen eye for detail and a deep understanding of technical communication best practices, you'll work closely with cross-functional teams to translate complex product concepts into user-friendly documentation.
 
Responsibilities:
  • Collaborate with technical writers, product managers, engineers, and subject matter experts to deeply understand customers’ workflows and develop documentation solutions that address their needs.
  • Scope and assign projects, ensuring that documentation meets business requirements and user needs.
  • Lead releases, tracking team progress, identifying and mitigating risks, and ensuring timely delivery of high-quality documentation.
  • Review text and provide recommendations to enhance usability and alignment with user-focused design.
  • Develop and maintain documentation standards, style guides, and best practices.
  • Stay up-to-date with industry trends and emerging technologies to continuously improve documentation processes and quality.                 
Qualifications:
  • 5+ years of experience in technical writing, with at least 2 years in a leadership or management role.
  • Strong background in scoping and assigning projects, leading releases, and managing documentation teams.
  • Excellent writing, editing, and communication skills.
  • Ability to work collaboratively with cross-functional teams, including UX, Product, and Engineering.
  • Strong project management skills, with experience in managing multiple projects simultaneously.
  • Experience with structured documentation tools, such as Paligo, Framemaker, Madcap Flare.
  • Strong analytical and problem-solving skills, with the ability to identify and mitigate risks.
  • Bachelor's degree in English, Communications, or a related field.

The annual starting salary for this position is between $124,000- $140,000 annually plus bonus/commission, depending on experience and other qualifications of the successful candidate.
