FS&I Leader

Executive Management Dallas, Texas Remote, United States

Description

Position Summary

The evolv Consulting team is seeking an accomplished FS&I Leader (Managing Director) to own and grow our Financial Services & Insurance vertical. This is a senior commercial leadership role with full accountability for the vertical’s strategy, revenue, P&L, and client portfolio.

The FS&I Leader expands relationships with existing clients, partners with Business Development to bring on new clients, and leads a team of Client Partners aligned to FS&I accounts. The ideal candidate is a seasoned consulting executive with deep financial services and insurance expertise, a record of profitable growth, and the executive presence to advise clients at the C-suite level.

This is a hands-on, execution-focused leadership role that requires a leader who is willing to get into the details and take an active role in building and growing the business. We are seeking someone who can operate at both strategic and tactical levels, drive business development, establish scalable processes, and remove obstacles to accelerate growth. Success requires a leader who takes full ownership, leads from the front, and executes with urgency, accountability, and a relentless focus on aggressively driving revenue growth and establishing FS&I as evolv’s flagship vertical.

Key Responsibilities

Vertical Ownership & Growth

  • Set and execute the FS&I vertical strategy across banking, insurance, capital markets, and fintech, in alignment with firm leadership.
  • Expand existing client relationships by identifying new needs, increasing account penetration, and pursuing add-on work within active engagements.
  • Partner with Business Development to target, pursue, and onboard new FS&I clients.
  • Define the vertical’s service offerings and industry point of view, drawing on evolv’s data, AI, and cloud capabilities.
  • Represent evolv at industry events, executive forums, and through published thought leadership to build brand visibility and pipeline.

P&L Accountability

  • Own the full P&L for the FS&I vertical, including revenue, gross margin, and contribution targets.
  • Build the annual plan and forecast in partnership with Finance, and report performance to executive leadership.
  • Drive pricing, rate, and staffing decisions that balance growth with profitability.
  • Monitor account-level financial health and act early on margin, utilization, or delivery risk.

Sales Leadership

  • Own the FS&I pipeline and annual bookings targets, from opportunity identification through proposal, negotiation, and close.
  • Lead executive-level pursuits and coach Client Partners on deal strategy and account growth.
  • Shape proposals and solutions with delivery and practice leaders to win complex, multi-year engagements.
  • Maintain disciplined pipeline management and accurate forecasting.

Client Partner Leadership

Client Partners report directly to the FS&I Leader. Each is aligned to one or more FS&I clients and is accountable for revenue and margin, the client relationship, and high-level oversight of client delivery.

  • Recruit, develop, and retain a high-performing team of Client Partners.
  • Set clear revenue, margin, and client-satisfaction goals for each Client Partner and hold the team accountable.
  • Serve as executive sponsor on key accounts and step in on escalations.
  • Run a consistent operating cadence across the portfolio, including account, pipeline, and financial reviews.
  • Partner with delivery leadership to ensure quality, measurable client outcomes, and the right talent on every engagement.

*Other duties as assigned.

The Ideal Candidate

We are looking for a revenue-driven leader who is passionate about building the FS&I vertical and holds a high bar for performance. The ideal candidate is:

  • Revenue-driven: Motivated by growth, with a clear commitment to meeting and exceeding the vertical’s revenue goals.
  • Strategic and hands-on: Equally comfortable setting long-term direction and rolling up their sleeves to close deals and solve problems.
  • Focused and adaptable: Able to prioritize effectively and balance vertical ownership, P&L, sales, and team leadership at the same time.
  • A hunter and a coach: Leads new business development alongside Business Development, while coaching Client Partners on how to show up at client sites and grow existing accounts.
  • A decisive leader: Sets clear direction, communicates expectations, and holds the team accountable for results.

Qualifications

Required

  • 12+ years of consulting experience serving financial services clients, including meaningful time in a strategic leadership role.
  • Deep domain expertise in financial services and insurance, with the credibility to advise C-suite stakeholders.
  • Proven P&L ownership of a practice, vertical, or business unit, with a record of growing revenue while protecting margin.
  • Track record of originating and closing complex, multi-year engagements and expanding existing client accounts.
  • Experience leading senior client-facing leaders (Client Partners, Account Leads, or equivalent), including hiring, coaching, and performance management.
  • Experience with data, AI, or cloud strategy in a financial services context.
  • Executive presence and exceptional communication skills, with the ability to influence internally and externally.
  • Thrives operating in a fast-paced, matrixed, entrepreneurial environment.

Preferred

  • Based in, or willing to relocate to, the Dallas–Fort Worth area.
  • Established executive network within the FS&I market.
  • Background at a top-tier consulting firm (Big 4, MBB, or equivalent) and/or operator-side experience at a major financial institution or insurer.
  • Experience growing a vertical within a mid-market consulting firm.
