Position Summary:

EVgo is seeking a highly motivated Marketing Analyst to join our dynamic team in accelerating the buildout of EV charging infrastructure in the US. This position will report to the Associate Director of Business Analytics and will also be an active participant on the Marketing team.

EVgo’s Marketing team manages a mix of business-to-business (B2B) and business-to-consumer (B2C) activities across multiple platforms that are critical to growing the company’s revenue and market leadership. B2B activities include developing and executing communications strategies to increase enterprise customer sales and industry partnerships to drive long-term profitable growth as well as partnering with other parts of the business to support presentations and proposals to new and existing clients. B2C activities include designing and implementing the 360-degree marketing plan, which includes digital marketing, email marketing, social media, blog posts, and event marketing.

The Analyst will focus on measuring and improving EVgo’s marketing efficacy, building its optimal marketing mix, and understanding its customers (including customer segmentation, acquisition cost, and lifetime value analyses). You will leverage your data analysis, financial modeling, and marketing know-how to drive cross-functional decision-making and implementation. Key responsibilities include pulling and compiling data from different sources, cleaning and analyzing large data sets, distilling insights into actionable recommendations, and tracking improvements across various metrics of success.


  • Accountable for end-to-end marketing analyses, developing recommendations to improve strategy and targeting, and track improvements.
  • Lead analyses to better understand EVgo customers, including customer segmentation and clustering customer lifetime value.
  • Producing meaningful marketing OKR dashboards and delivering monthly, cross-channel performance reports with actionable insights.
  • Measure and monitor the cost of customer acquisition.
  • Develop a marketing mix model and provide recommendations to optimize the media mix.
  • Develop surveys and study website behavior patterns to analyze and optimize business results and user experience and deliver key insights.
  • Lead marketing analytics to support the Site Development team, including assessing the impact of EVgo products and segmenting site hosts.
  • Manage marketing and public relations claims database and reporting, including developing new claims and conducting related analyses on one note.
  • Conduct marketing research as needs arise (competition, audience creation, geo-targeting, etc.) and support customer-facing activities with strategic insights and data visualizations as needed.
  • Synthesize data from multiple sources, developing assumptions where needed, to drive customer insights and strategy development.
  • Measure the efficacy of marketing campaigns, including conducting A/B tests, analyzing results, making recommendations, and tracking improvements across metrics of success.
  • Coordinate with external partners and business stakeholders to develop actionable dashboards which present the end-to-end funnel metrics, contributing to the development of hypotheses and actions.

Required Skills and Experience:

  • At least 5 years of experience in marketing analytics in consulting, in-house, or agency settings.
  • Undergraduate Degree or Masters of Science in Marketing, Statistics, Finance, Economics, Analytics or relevant field or equivalent experience.
  • Highly analytical, excellent quantitative skills, and experienced in distilling data analyses into insights that drive business, new initiatives, and customer value.
  • Strong Excel and SQL skills are a must.
  • Experience in digital marketing, marketing mix optimization, and measuring and optimizing marketing spend efficiency.
  • Strong data visualization skills that communicate results and drive decision-making. Experience with data visualization tools such as Tableau is a plus.
  • Excellent at developing and delivering presentations to technical and non-technical audiences.
  • Demonstrated success in the simultaneous delivery of multiple projects and programs, and exemplary attention to detail.
  • Skilled at cross-functional collaboration with clients, peers, management, and other departments
  • Ability to report to both a hardline and a dotted line manager.
