Responsibilities: 
  • Crafting, deploying, and expanding vital engineering components and services to align with EVgo's strategic goals. 
  • Collaborating with Product and Design teams across functions to assess trade-offs and deliver solutions necessary for developing groundbreaking products and services. 
  • Establishing strong partnerships with Backend, Frontend, DevOps, Mobile, and Data teams to guarantee the reliability and user-friendliness of API and data interfaces. 
  • Providing technical guidance and advocating for availability, scalability, operational excellence, and cost efficiency. 
  • Offering mentorship and conducting code reviews to support the growth of engineers within the team. 
  • Contributing your expertise to greenfield projects, catalyzing innovation and driving forward-thinking solutions. 
Required Skills and Experience: 
  • 7+ years of software development experience, specializing in constructing scalable and resilient software solutions. Proficiency in Node.js or Python is essential, along with a demonstrated aptitude for mastering new technologies. 
  • Led substantial initiatives from inception to completion, driving significant impact to customers 
  • Demonstrated experience in collaborating with Engineering, Product, Design, and Data teams to develop and deliver product features effectively. 
  • Possess an architectural mindset with a keen eye for detail and the ability to communicate effectively, enabling roadmap prioritization and informed engineering decisions. 
  • Familiarity with Continuous Integration/Continuous Deployment (CI/CD) practices, observability, and monitoring tools. 
  • Capability to mentor and guide software engineers, fostering their growth and development. 
  • Experience in maintaining, analyzing, and debugging Node.js services in production environments.

Desired Qualifications: 
  • Prior experience in the identity, authorization, billing domains is highly desirable. 
  • Designing ReBAC authorization models on OpenFGA is preferred. 
  • Proficiency with AWS Aurora, AWS DynamoDB, GraphQL, caching mechanisms, and serverless development is advantageous. 
  • A Bachelor's or Master's degree in Computer Science or a related field is preferred. 
You will work primarily remotely with occasional travel as needed and be a part of a team distributed across the US. EVgo is headquartered in Los Angeles. 
 
For job positions in CA, CO, and NYC, the estimated salary range for a new hire in this position is $150,000 USD to $170,000 USD. Actual salary may vary depending on job-related factors, including knowledge, skills, experience, and location. In addition to a competitive base salary, we offer discretionary target cash bonuses, restricted stock units (subject to Board Approval), and a comprehensive benefits package including health, life, and disability insurance, unbounded paid time off including parental leave, and a 401(k).
