Position Summary:

Are you a persuasive communicator, and experienced at negotiating and creating strategic investment models?

EVgo is looking for an experienced Director, Pricing and Deal Strategy to support Business Development activities focused on real estate acquisitions, fleet partnerships, and commercial offerings.

Reporting into the Vice President of Strategic Partnerships, you will develop data-driven investment models, business cases and evaluation criteria for revenue proposals. This will include developing standard and be-spoke pricing for a range of EVgo products and services across many customer verticals. As Director, Pricing and Deal Strategy you will also provide diligence and competitive analysis for target real estate acquisitions and property leases, in connection with the development of fleet charging hubs.

This role calls for strong financial acumen, strategic thinking, and a collaborative mindset with an ability to meet and engage decision makers and the successful candidate will also be an experienced negotiator. To be effective, you will need to be subject matter expert of EVgo’s business lines, revenue generation, products, and value propositions. 


  • In collaboration with Finance, co-own and develop pricing models for various fleet products and solutions and periodically publish standard pricing templates
  • Price core elements of standard and be-spoke fleet partnership proposals, accounting for opportunity size, partner and project scale, geography, competition, service level, etc.
  • Support deals by outlining negotiable terms, setting walk-in and walk-away prices, suggesting promotions and incentives, and identifying acceptable concessions and tradeoffs
  • Actively participate in negotiating complex and high value transactions
  • Working with Finance and our CFO, create processes that will streamline pricing approvals and improve bid responsiveness
  • Present to and secure approvals from EVgo’s investment committee and, where applicable, board of directors
  • Network broadly across the organization and maintain relationships with key stakeholders and collaborators in Business Development, Field Ops, Finance, Hardware, Product, Software, and Operations

Required Skills and Experience

  • 7+ years of financial analysis experience; exposure to investment underwriting, pricing, and strategy a plus
  • Strong and creative negotiator with proven deal experience
  • Ability to balance commercial goals and practical expediency appropriately and thoughtfully
  • Ability to work in a self-directed manner and collaboratively across teams, including with clients and other external stakeholders
  • Excellent oral/written presentation skills; proficiency in advising internal stakeholders at all levels of the business to achieve strategic objectives
  • Proven ability to translate business objectives into measurable goals and deliver on them
  • Intellectually curious; desire and ability to learn new content and concepts; able to think creatively
  • Strong business acumen with the ability to collaborate and contribute to the success of the total business model
  • Data-driven decision maker with an ability to learn from past experiences and a willingness to adjust
  • Automotive, electric utility, EV, or data center experience a plus
