The Opportunity

Everyday Health Consumer division is seeking a seasoned Yield Manager to optimize revenue across Everyday Health’s portfolio of sites.  In this role, you will provide analysis and identify trends for display and video inventory across platforms to maximize revenue.  This data driven insight will help drive strategy for pricing, packaging, and optimization of inventory across all channels. You will operate at both a macro and micro level and work closely with other internal groups such as Sales, Client Success Management, Integrated Marketing, Product Management, Ad Operations, and Programmatic to share and leverage inventory and yield data for smarter decision making.  You have a passion for data, strong analytical and quantitative skills, and a solid understanding of how the digital ecosystem works.

Key Responsibilities

  • Increase revenue yield across Everyday Health’s portfolio of sites by performing data and inventory analysis and guiding construction of strong media plans
  • Coordinate management of digital advertising inventory, communicating analysis of past inventory, and accurately forecasted future inventory
  • Provide analysis to maximize revenue across all channels
  • Leverage data to guide pre & post sales strategy
  • Inform rate card pricing strategy for direct sold media, including seasonal rates and incentives; analyzing sensitivity by category
  • Provide data and pricing guidance for deal negotiation
  • Work with Sales, Client Success Management, and Integrated Marketing on the development and packaging of new products
  • Work with Client Success Managers to align demand opportunities against available supply for both sales planning and post sales optimization
  • Monitor and report on micro and macro inventory trends utilizing multiple dashboards, Order Management Data, GAM data
  • Create regular reporting view of top-down inventory using Yieldex and other sources
  • Present data and findings internally to showcase areas of success and opportunity
  • Generate insights for increasing revenue and inventory sold through our direct and performance channels
  • Partner with Sales and FP&A teams to ensure coordination on revenue budgeting and forecasting
  • Partner with the Deal Desk in evaluation of custom rate cards and exception requests
  • Develop new insights and recommendations to improve the monetization of media inventory
  • Measure the effectiveness of our ad products and packages in terms of sell through, eCPMs and utilization

Job Qualifications

  • BS/BA degree
  • 4+ years related work experience in digital media planning, operations or finance
  • Advanced Excel skills; building models and analyzing trends across multiple data sources
  • Data modeling and visualization experience in Tableau or other similar analytical suites
  • Able to work in a dynamic, fast-paced environment
  • A passion for and an ability to identify new opportunities for efficiency and productivity
  • Able to think and act both strategically (big picture) and tactically (details)
  • Resourceful, able to self-educate, not afraid to ask questions
  • Good business judgment and intellectual curiosity; ability to turn data into actionable insights and recommendations
  • Strong internal customer service skills
  • Experience with GAM, Yieldex, Order Management Systems, Domo, Google Analytics
